Well, I have an issue from e85. It's a simple fix, but something did come up from using it. My downpipe gasket and manifold gaskets were compromised. I replaced, but will happen again? I run 60%+ E85. WIll reduce to 40-50% here forth.

what does this have to do with running e85? ethanol will never touch this. also got my last blackstone with 5k + autocrosses and it was super clean.

The only downside I heard of was possibly needing more frequent oil changes

but chances are most you hot shoes are already swapping oil every 10k, or once every three months or if you get bored.

I did hear about one of our drivers blowing out his cat but im also positive that normal 91 oct or e85 woulda done that...(dude races in the 86 cup and his high flow catted header became a hi flow uncatted)

I try to do my oil changes every 4k or so. Been on e85 tune for about 2 years give or take.

Hahahah. SMH Nothing at all, mOve along.

... I found a Lucas product for e85 stablization. Recommended for every fill-up (i'm going every other) and safe for all mixtures. Green bottle #10576, I believe. I don't have it with me, it's in the whip. Anyhow, looking at thicker (Grimspeed) gaskets made of steal to arrive.

i toss in a squirt of injector cleaner every tank since i fill up almost weekly

What about 100% Ethanol. Does anyone have experience with this?

doesnt exist, maximum is around 96% and I think is difficult to find?
and you need lot of boost and/or compression to take advantages of that

Sorry to hear that. I would not recommend pure ethanol...

I would imagine ethanol for an engine would still have additives for lubrications and whatnot. I have a feeling this one will remain an unknown. You do see cars running on pure alcohol BUT I don’t know if it could be done long term without harming the engine.

Mainly so people don’t drink it. The lubrication issues with pure ethanol are fairly easy to solve.

Okay. I know there’s an additive in pure Ethanol so it can’t be drank.

Enlightened me on the additives for an engine running on pure Ethanol. I’m assuming there’s additives anyways...

E85 is made unfit to drink because of the gasoline as the additive.

SO why not go with E97 or something equivalent that is still unsafe to drink and higher percentage? Because gasoline stabilizes ethanol, espcially in the cold. Gasoline can vaporize at very low temperatures which is why it is added. When there is 15% or more gasoline, there is enough vapors to spark at low temps.
