No, because ap racing makes a fine brake kit, Cusco can cover me for chassis bracing and I'm sure some ohlins coils would give sti bilsteins a run for their money.

The WRX is more of a mainstream car, hence why the final production car was made to look more like something that the "Average Joe" would buy. The BRZ is much more of a niche production car.

I fully expect the BRZ STI to keep most of the same front and some of the back that is shown, along with most of the interior, minus the steering wheel and the toggle switches where the clock should be.

This is, of course, if the BRZ STI comes to fruition.

car looks great. i'd easily trade mine in for one, and just swap my JR kit over to it.

it seems more buttoned down, cohesive and purposed than the other versions out there, where the visual and performance improvements were marginal at best and commanding much too high of a premium.

I don't know why the car companies insist on giving their concepts these matte paintjobs.

Kinda sorta. I notice an SI-mode toggle on the steering wheel, so this car seems to have more tuning in the electronics than the standard BRZ and/or tS.

This would also at least point to the possiblity of more parts coming from STI, or even that they'd be available in the US. As you said, why would STI produce a car for the US autoshow if they weren't planning to sell to the US market?

So this pretty much means I will be able to buy ts parts without paying for the shipping?

You pay for shipping regardless of who imports it.

I am prepared to be underwhelmed when the official press is released. It looks like they will be offering brakes, wheels, seats, suspension, lip spoiler and some side skirts. I'd bet everything else you see is 'concept'.

Why would Subaru offer aftermarket replacement bumpers and fenders? There is no way they could compete economically with the after-market.

If Subaru were serious about developing this car for performance parts we'd have seen an equivalent to the TRD Griffon already.

I hope I'm wrong.

All this says to me is that we won't be seeing a second generation 86 until mid to late 2018 (as a 2019 model) at the earliest. There's no way Subaru starts marketing a bunch of new STi parts so late in the game if there's going to be a 2nd gen car any sooner.

Fuck! Its a concept.

I just hope the over exterior design will remain the same for facelift, minus expensive CF, but sames bumpers, and lights. Just perfect. And, don't forget wider rear fenders.

However I will say that the interior is pretty nice
Yes!
I bet if I go back to some of the lowered/body kit/wing debate threads I will find some of the same guys drooling over this thing all screaming "rice" at the guy that did it on his own!
