Well we have to do coffee some day and I will give you a practical demonstration of my car entering and exiting prowess.

Thanks for the encouragement. It's indeed important. I'd like to live to a ripe old age and still be able to get around. But man, it's tough.

Ten years ago I lost 70 pounds over about 9 months. Got down to a super healthy weight: felt great. Just did it with simple nutrition: high-fiber, low fat, low calorie intake. No fad diets or anything. And I lost it slowly on purpose: not a shock to the system, and I never felt all that hungry. So it was great.

2 years later, I had gained it all back, plus some more. It just requires constant vigilance and self-control, and I seem to lack that. Being more active I'm sure is one of the keys to keeping the weight off, but I've tried so many forms of exercise over the years, and frankly, hated every single one of them. Me and sweat just don't get along.

But yeah, gotta do something. Just gotta stop procrastinating!

I'm 47 and know the feeling of getting in and out of this car.
To help myself not to struggle so much, I do the following;
1.) I raised adjusted the seat height higher so I won't have to get in so low.
2.) I remove items such as my cell phone and wallet from belt and pockets so I can move more easy into the seat.
3.) I try not to grab items while getting out of the car. I will get out of the car first then grab bags, etc.
4.) I try to park away from other cars or not too close to other cars so that I have enough room to open my door all the way to get in and out.
This all helped me not to look like an old man getting in and out of my car.

I don't know. I sure haven't lost as much skin getting out of the car as I did the last time I fell off my bike! Not to mention that the car doesn't fall over and get scratched!

The second issue is the damn door that won't stay open, and I swear I can hear giggling as it keeps closing on my left leg while I'm trying to maneuver myself out.

All in all it's not THAT hard, until you add all of life's little complications....like getting out while holding my big purse, a soda, my phone, my keys, the mail, etc....because I'm too lazy to go around and get all that shit out from the passenger side after I get out...so I try to do the "getting out dance" WHILE carrying all that stuff. Ugh.
I'm new here and having a good laugh. I'm also glad I'm not alone in the 'never gonna be graceful' car exit dance. I have similar issues with a blown left knee as sisterblue mentioned above. Im a bit over 6' and anything that doesn't yield a face plant I'm happy with. I go back for any stuff I need to carry out of the car. Personally I'd love to see a video of those who have it down to routine.

Welcome.
I will see if I can somehow oblige with a video.
