On another note:

How many of these FI guys actually run competitive times? Last weekend at CVR, both FI cars were not putting down times competitive with the NA front runners. While the owners/drivers may think they're driving hard, there's a lot more to be extracted from the car. Now if @robispec, @aCab, or myself were driving, and running faster than our NA times, and not overheating, you'll have my attention.

Just pointing out that any comparison at this point is not apples to apples.

Example: a stock GT-R will overheat at the track, but will it overheat in the hands of an intermediate level driver? Probably not.

Good point. The Ken Stout Racing TRD Twin Screw Supercharged FR-S that's competing in the Pirelli World Challenge has suffered mechanical failures in round 1 and finished nearly if not dead last in GTS in round 2 and 3.

We will be INOVATIVE!

oh on a side Note last weekend in the SOWS OVEN (high 90's) my water temp was 205 when I forgot and left the A/C on ran normally 196. We have a 20-25 degree "delta" on the oil temps so my oil was a peak of 229...with the A/C on!

Driver skill is the first mod you should make. Then you have to have the suspension and the brakes to deal with the eventual power upgrade of FI.

As @CSG Mike said, just because your 86 is FI doesn't put it in a category above the NA's. I was at CVR with @robispec and him and as he said the quickest 86's were not FI.

Power is not the only priority on a road course.

@robispec
I assume you mean INNOVATE and not inovative? I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the kit. What track event will you be running next?

It's expensive, I will be installing everything this weekend and doing autox and track testing. All videos will be up by end of month. But you definitely want an oil cooler for track, and radiator for autox. Both is preferred.

Will be posting plenty of info. Be curious about Robisepcs build as well.

I didn't realize you were going FI. I thought you were going to keep playing with us in RTR.

Have any of the overheat issue twins tried a air-water cooling option? Would open up the radiator to more air... Not sure what the downside is, im sure theres other up sides though

The stock car with guys like Robispec and CSGmike are coming close to if not over heating after hard laps.. Here in the desert.. I've only seen one FI car at the track and it only did a lap before it was loaded up on a flatbed.. And I don't know what was wrong with it.. It was idling in the pits..

@robispec do I need to swing by this week and see the goodness??? I'm in town lol

Again? What did he do to get banned this time? LOL

This whole FI thing is a touchy subject. One camp thinks it's not worth the effort because of overheating and reliability issues. The other camp thinks it's worth the time/money/effort.
