This is a cool free mod - I wonder how much weight is saved between this and the fluid. I know that the Raceseng AC Delete (discontinued, but still some out there) saves ~31lbs off your front end (not including fluids), but that's $400 (less if you manage to sell your compressor and condenser).

No idea. If it wasn't for my accident I would have kept the AC until it stopped working. Unfortunately the accident punctured the condenser and I didn't want to spend the money to fix it. Most of the AC parts were surprisingly light.

I had to replace the bent driver side control arm so I figured it was a good time to update the bushings with Whiteline's goodies. I am also replacing the inner tie rods because the driver side outer is seized onto the inner. Fun fun.
Installed Even the packaging is top notch.

I am pretty much ready for the track season other than waiting for a few parts to come in. And after watching some of Verus Engineering's work on the FT86 Speedfactory time attack car, I decided to take on sheet metal front air dams. The idea is to funnel the air into the cooling stack instead of the fender liners. My AC condenser was damaged in the accident so I used the threaded holes in the radiator to mount a custom oil cooler bracket. (see post 335 in this thread.) Then I built the air dams off of that. I also mounted them to the crash beam up top and plastic tray below. I have some foam coming in this week to block off the hole between the rad and the top radiator support along with a few other places.
I also have a fresh Verus front splitter coming in this week. 18 days left until Lime Rock! Wrapped them in flat black vinyl

It has been a while.
I have already been to Lime Rock, Watkins Glen and NJMP since the last post. Headed to NYST this weekend. Here are a few pics to catch you up. New tow rig: 2012 Silverado with zero options other than hd towing features. 5.3L 6 speed auto. (HD leaf springs, trans/oil cooler, tow mirrors, brake controller, 3.42 RG.) Got a killer deal on it. <3 Obligatory track pic from last weekend at NJMP - Just so happens to be taken at the corner where I binned it last year. Most recent: Used set of 17x9 +35 Rays 57s w/ 235 RS4s tires. RR Racing front stage 2 & rear sport BBK. Got the wheels and BBK off of a friend about to trade his 86 in. I may have a few other goodies coming this year but for now I will most likely just be posting pics from the track.

Not sure where you live in NY but check out North Coast Auto in Rochester. They are super cool guys and really hooked me up with my truck. They had a large selection on the lot when I picked mine up. - Not affiliated with them at all. Just a suggestion.

Photo dump. I have been crazy busy at my day job and when I have a second I spend it working/coaching at a local track. Poor me right? lol. Enjoy.

My work schedule is finally allowing me to get back to the track after a month and a half! Headed to Pocono with NASA Northeast this weekend and Palmer the 17th and 18th!
On a side note. All that overtime paid for a project I have wanted for a while. 1988 Nissan D21. As long as I don't crash the FRS again, this will be a winter project. I am hoping to get running and driving smoothly in time for an ice racing event or two this winter. Plans are to lower it, learn how to wrap a car with it (so I can wrap my FRS with some confidence) and SR20DET swap it eventually. She is ugly but she is clean clean.

The "More track than street" FRS is now just all track. (sorry, the forum doesn't let me change the thread title.) Took her off the road last month which has allowed me the freedom to shed some additional weight. For starters I removed the remainder of the interior. (Center column, door cards, carpet.) Then I went a little further with the side windows/motors. I need the windows for transport so I made brackets to allow them to be removed at the track and re-installed on the trailer.
More lightweight mods to come. Made a bracket to hold the traction control buttons out of the rear center console bracket. Photo Dump: Me and my brothers prelude at Pineview Run Campsite at Pocono Palmer fly by pic Pineview Run

Official weight reduction from the parts you see here plus the side window glass, carpet and hardware is 57 lbs! Not sure there is much left to remove. I want to keep the dash for convenience and heat for defrost.

Its kinda crazy but we have almost the exact same build to a T. Do you have any plans to replace the glass with plastics?
