I was in a similar situation only difference being, the boss created the problems that limited my advancement. He compounded things by reducing my duties and responsibilities while pushing for me to retire.
Then one day, almost two years ago now, I got the; "here's your hat, there's the door" routine. Just five minutes before quitting time and two days before I was to take delivery of my BRZ Inazuma I was terminated without notice and without cause. No job, no income, no Inazuma!
No buyout or golden parachute for me. I had to start legal action against my former employer. Although a settlement was reached the government has now stepped in and I'll likely end up losing 40% of the little amount I did get.
Life sucks and then you die.
Because I've been a shut-in since this all went down in 2017 the wife wanted to do something to pick me up. So last night we drove just over an hour to see Jeff Dunham and his "little people in boxes" doing his Passively Aggressive tour. New characters, new material plus all the old favourites. We were just five rows back dead center. I'm standing in this shot and the wife is sitting, that is if you can pick us out...

basically yes. but I really like their shepherd's pie and the burgers are decent. however much to her schagrin my GF swears they have the best chicken tenders after I brought her some home one day after I had lunch there with some friends.

Also, Subaru oil is much cheaper than Toyotas. 8/qt vs 14/qt

I live on a 10 mile canyon road. A guy tried to run from the cops. He was arrested, lost his license, and had his car impounded. He hit 107mph at the fastest. That takes effort on this road.

I'm not a fan of strip clubs or hooters. Strip clubs are places where sad women meet sad men and do sad things. Also, why look if I cannot touch? Hooters is, reportedly, just bad food served by a woman. I can get that at home. Rim shot!

Welp, I just had a nice visit from @Ultramaroon.

He was up attending the Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, and stopped by and took me to lunch.

Actually, mrs ultramaroon attended the expo -

We had a nice chat, he graciously listened to a few of my back-in-the-day stories.
