Clunk noise from rear passenger side. Any ideas?

Been having a clunk noise coming from the passenger side rear suspension and it kind of sounds like as if I was running over a manhole. It happens even on flat ground. Also, either I can't hear it anymore or something, but it just goes away once I get on the highway. Some searching says either my ball joint is going out, sway bar link nut, or diagonal strut tower bar nuts. What else could it be? Should I continue to drive it? I don't have the tools to check under my car yet... Also, my car only has 7500k miles on it so I don't think it'd be the ball joint.

I'd suggest you drop it off at the dealer tomorrow morning (since it's under warranty) and have them fix it.

Let us know what was wrong.

I probably can't drop it off til this weekend. Should I continue driving it or swap cars for now?

This might "sound" strange - check the fold down seats. I have a brand new tS, I go down the hill I live on, which is pretty bumpy and I get the "clunks". Make sure those seat backs are properly latched. Mine are and still occasionally make sounds. It is disconcerting and irritating. The clunks sound more ominous than you would think. I better not have suspension problems, I have less than 1200K on the clock.

Oh, and on flat ground and the highway I don't hear it either. (Of course at highway cruise speeds this car is not what I would call quiet)

Well, that's a tough call.

If it were me, and didn't have any tools, I'd just make sure all the lug nuts were tight and carefully drive it till you get a chance to take it in to the dealer.

Hm I'll have to check that again. I've tried taking everything out of my trunk and re latching my rear right seat, but it still made the sound. I'll try relatching it again tonight to see if that fixes anything.

I made an appointment for this Friday. Ill check the latch issue that firekat brought up though to see if that's the issue. If not and it still persists, I'll probably just drive something else in the meantime.

I'll keep y'all updated on my findings.

Just a quick update:
I folded down my rear seats to see if that latch was causing the noise as per @firekat's recommendation , but it still made the noise. I have an appointment with the dealers for this Friday so, hopefully they can figure it out.

It could be something as simple as the jack or one of the things under the rear floor have come loose. Lift the cover, pull everything and reseat them in their respective spots.

Good luck.

I've got a "tick, tick, tick" in the back somewhere that I can't find that I've had since new.
