Just before I bought my Toyota GT86 I walked into the local Subaru dealership.
This is the conversation as I remember it:
Me: "Hi. I'm interested in a BRZ."
Salesman: "Really?! Why?"

Pretty much mine as well. Normally you stop and read the window sticker and you have to beat the salesman away with a stick.
I walked around the car about 5 times, stared at it for 10 minutes, opened the hood, sat inside and crawled underneath (well stuck my face under as it was already lowered) and nothing.
There were 4 salespeople standing around chatting and watching me all the time and not one made a move to come help.
When I eventually approached them (after at least 1/2 an hour) and said "does anybody want to sell a car?" they all looked shocked. One even said "Really? We get people looking all the time but nobody ever actually wants one".
After I convinced them I was serious they were great.

That sounds like my experience at the Toyota dealer. At one I mentioned I wanted to look at an 86 and the dealer just pointed and said "over there." That dealer was on my way home so I stopped by two more times and crawled all over the car opening everything, looking in, and under and nobody even came out to see what I was doing. The hood was up and they couldn't see me. I could have taken the intake off and they wouldn't have been the wiser.

At another Toyota dealer I did the same thing. Nobody came out to say a damned thing to me.

At a third Toyota dealer they had a TRD spec one in the showroom and the dealer tried to pimp it, but he knew next to nothing about the car. He tried at least.

I go to a Subaru dealer and the dealer has no car to show me so he takes me out to the employee parking lot and shows me his and he knows the car inside and out.

I go to another Subaru dealer and he doesn't have a car to show me either so he takes me out back and shows me one they were prepping for sale.

I go back to the first dealer to order my car and the guy I talked to isn't there. I work with another guy and I still have a few questions. He runs out to the employee parking lot and drives HIS BRZ up to the showroom and we go over his car debating options for mine. I wasn't going to get the leather and alcantara seats, but when I sat in his it was a no-brainer.

The car won me over as a buyer, but Subaru sealed the deal on which twin I ordered based on service.

The debate between FRS and BRZ is funny to me. Its a same damn car. I can see if you comparing a Forrester to a 4Runner or a Legacy to an Avalon but the twin are the same car.. the reason I ended up with FRS is because the Subaru dealer werent as helpful as the Toyota dealership and that has nothing to do with the company.

The way I see it if you own this car for longer than 1 month you shouldnt be thinking which is better, leave that to the fanboys who still dreaming about buying one.

I think (unless I am really naïve) that anybody on here isn't actually debating which is better but more joking about those that do.

First dealer I went to the salesman told me the frs went 0-60 in 2 seconds. Idk why these people pull out such outrageous things from out of their asses, it's definitely not helping them sell any twins.

Some of the thoughts from the sales person at the Subaru dealer closest to me: "It is a 3 season car. You wouldn't want to use it during the winter. It is more like a collector's car and you wouldn't want to spoil it. Have you heard about the WRX?"

When I told him I was also interested in the FRS, his reply was, "The Scion one? It's not the same car!!!"

I ended up getting the car from a dealer 2 hours away.

0-60 what in the 2 seconds? Maybe he is just really old school and was talking furlongs!

Not even with an ACME rocket strapped to the back of it.

Or a very lost and confused Porsche 918 salesman!
