In preparation for my FT86 SpeedFactory UEL headers (catted), I decided to remove the awesome sounding Nameless Axleback to go for something a bit quieter.

Sounds include cold start and idling at around 700 RPM (due to OpenFlash Tablet tune) - then throttle blips to 3k and 5.5/6k. Recorded with GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition, placed within 5 feet of the exhaust.

The current exhaust setup is as follows:
* Perrin Resonated 2.5" Catback Exhaust
* Berk Front Pipe w/ High Flow Cat

Is it much quieter than the Nameless? When I bought the Nameless I was debating between it and the Perrin resonated (which you obviously have now). I came to the conclusion that both were basically at the same sound levels, but the Nameless had more of a throaty exhaust note. Is this what you've found as well?

Hey - the Nameless definitely has more personality, I think it's a little louder - but it makes sense, the two 5" mufflers are still smaller than the big unit in the Perrin. To me the Nameless definitely carries a more throaty exhaust note, and one that can be heard without really needing to floor it or anything. The Perrin is really tame, and coming from the Nameless is actually a bit disappointing - but the Berk HFC definitely helped give it some extra growl.

The video makes it seem really loud, but it's because the GoPro is placed pretty close to the exhaust. I think at the end of the day, if I weren't such a pansy when it comes to the "louder exhausts", the Nameless is the way to go (which is hardly loud compared to many other setups I've heard).

Nice, thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you got to enjoy the Nameless for a little bit at least. Looking forward to how it sounds once you get those FT86SF headers, bet its gonna sound great. Also I looked everywhere for the RallyArmour clips but couldn't find them, hope you can figure something out.

Also, quick suggestion for exhaust clips - try attaching the gopro to the back of the trunk and facing it outward. It'll eliminate wind noise and also be in the perfect position for hearing exhaust sounds (at least when driving).

I think any locks that will make it more difficult to take will work. I did 2 different sets of locks before but the rest of my cars I felt it was just overkill. If someone really wants your rims. They will take it at what ever cost. But if you want peace of mind. Do 3-4 different lock sets. It's not pretty but it will make them move on to the next car.

I posted my opinion in this thread, plus there's an instructive story there about knowing where your key is if you're going to use locks.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353

basically if you park on the street a lot and are worried about theft, then sure do it. I park mostly in a garage and it's too much of a hassle for me to deal with locks.
