Does anyone know how much I would have to machine off to make the snout fit over the alternator to fit on my 18'?

Also, do they have CARB tunes for the 18's that I could flash to get me to my pro tune yet?

Thanks,
Kurt
It's not much. You can literally do it on the car to get the clearance you need, with just the alternator loose so you can swing it in/out of the way (leave bottom right bolt out, and bottom left bolt loose).

Alternatively, you can buy the updated nose cone, and just swap them.

CARB is up to 17 at the moment, but a 18 tune is available. Email the same address you used before at Edelbrock, and give them your Ecutek ID.

You'll need another Ecutek license for the new car.

PM me for any of the above, including the nose cone and/or license.

Are there any strut tower braces that are confirmed to fit?

It's not quite what you're asking for, but the FT86SF firewall braces fit.

Hi Everyone,
Just purchased a used Edelbrock kit from the forum classifieds, getting ready to install it in the next week or two. I purchased all the special tools called out in the manual as well as the coolant and brake fluid. I know I will also need to purchase a license for the ECUTEK. Are there any other consumables I will need to replace when I install it? Thanks.

An extra pair of hands to set the SC manifold down lol. I tried it solo, but apparently I don't lift enough.

I would do new intake manifold gaskets/o-rings and a new throttle body o-ring if I were installing a used kit on a no-longer new motor. New belt. Might be wise to have a few extra hose clamps laying around, just in case.

I would toss the supplied hose clamps and replace them with the worm-screw style hose clamps. IMO, they are much easier to work with and cheap to buy.

K&N filter sealant (1oz) https://www.amazon.com/99-0703-1-Sea.../dp/B000N9ZPAI

MAF cleaner (not required, but I'm at 100k miles)

Sounds like you're ready to go.

PM me for the Ecutek license.

What tune are you running? Did you clear codes when flashing it?

Can you datalog your MAF voltage so we can see what values it's getting?

I installed my Edelbrock SC a few weeks ago, and I'm getting a few symptoms that I think are related to the tune, but I want to get some opinion if this could be a vacuum leak as well. Basically, the car is very rough during cruising below 4k RPM and during gentle acceleration. I took some logs and the LTFT is low (-7.8% while in closed loop), which corresponds to the range where it is very rough. Based on what I've read in the software tuning threads, I suspect this is due to unexpected feedback from the O2 sensor, as I'm using the Edelbrock CARB tune with an aftermarket header (FT86SF catted UEL header) and stock O2 sensors. I've uploaded some logs here:

https://datazap.me/u/thriller/log-15...a=7-9-10-11-24

However, I'm not quite sure how to differentiate between tune issues and vacuum leaks in the logs. So far, I've had no stalling and no CEL, and it looks like the actual AFR is normal in both open and closed mode, so I don't have any reason to suspect a vacuum leak. I've ordered a tune + DBOX from Delicious, but I'd like to rule out any hardware issues before I install it. Thanks!
