My first time out! Granted, this video was from April 2016-but I finally spent the 10 minutes putting it together. I'm by no means "good" even now that I've been out a few more times, but I can definitely tell I've improved when I look at the footage from my more recent events.

Some parts have the gopro up by the front bumper, and you can REALLY hear the supercharger whine!

Looking good man!

Id say from quickly looking at your video you just need to a carry a little more speed. A few of those spinouts probably would not have happened had you carried a little more speed in.

It's actually a lot easier to control the car at speed than it is with a slower entry.

That supercharger also sounds amazing.

Yeah, my buddy pointed out my speed thing after watching me one of the runs...I go a bit faster now, but it's what I'm focused on now!

It was crazy how much easier it got when I started ebraking instead of trying to power over. Power over worked okay for me, but the ebrake made it a lot more controllable for me. I was scared at first to try it, but once I did I was hooked.

Appreciate the tip though!

Its all situation dependent. I like to initiate with a flick. I honestly haven't used my e-brake much, this year was the first time I really used it and it but it was generally when I needed to scrub speed/make a tight transition. I'm going to practice with it more this year.

^What he said. It's all situation dependent.

I never really used "power over" because the car has no "power" to "over" with lol. I typically stuck with aggressive feints or clutch kick entries. Handbrake works too, but I did everything I could to keep from using the handbrake. Using the handbrake stops wheel speed and then you have to get that wheel speed back up to keep the drift going. Not an issue with a car that makes power, but with a lower powered car, it can be a struggle depending on course layout.

Only time I ever really used handbrake was on transition or to adjust my line. Most of the time I just left-foot brake and keep the throttle pinned.

Yeah, with an N/A car the handbrake can really ruin the speed needed for entry. The hardest part about driting the FR-S N/A is keeping the momentum up. On big tracks I imagine thats not to much of an issue, but for smaller/parking lot type events, its hard to get enough speed to use the brake and maintain your momentum without really beating the hell out of the clutch.

Now that I have a turbo, its nice to be able to scrub all that speed and have the power to gain it back when getting back onto power.

When I was N/A i pretty much used nothing but the weight of the car and the occasional clutch kit, only downside was if I ever had to make a big correction I could pretty much count on my drift coming to an end

This becomes especially apparent when chasing during tandem. If the lead car makes a mistake and scrubs speed, you're basically SOL haha. I've had that happen a few times when the front car makes a mistake and scrub a shit ton of speed.... just to watch them power off, while I clutch kick 5 times to try and keep the wheels spinning.

If I ever build another one, I think I'd almost certainly go with a turbo setup. The Stage 2 N/A setup was awesome, but with tandem, it doesn't leave a lot of room to make adjustments in the chase position.

The few times I started to tandem while I was still N/A I had to lead and pray I didn't screw up and throw the other guys off. I tried to follow a few times but I h ad to carry A LOT of speed in at our local drift lot and it honestly was a bit scary and I felt like I was pushing my luck each time. Id basically get right on their door and have to trust them to get back on power and pull away because even just left foot braking a little could make or break it.

I love my Turbo setup, doesn't make gobs of power or torque but its enough to make keeping speeds up pretty effortless.
