Hence term "shot in the dark". I just think it's odd that his clutch went out at 27k miles with no explanation.

Ensure the slave cylinder isn't leaking.

Oh, I hear ya. On a related note, I am amazed at the pedal travel between the touch point and full engagement in this clutch. I have 6000 miles on mine and am ready to look for a slave cylinder with a smaller bore.

Does anyone else notice this? I'm afraid I'll fry my clutch as much as it fakes me out.

He replaced the master cylinder and it fixed his problem.

A clutch going out at 27k miles is a clear indication of some other problem. Driver or mechanical. He may need to replace the clutch. But if he doesn't find the underlying problem, he may encounter this again in the future.
Any suggestion how i should describe the issue? Or else i am sure that dealership will ask me to replace the clutch as wear and tear (driver fault).

But then how do you explain about my issue #2 where gear indicator is showing incorrect gear? From my understanding, unlike 370z, this one is software based and displays which gear in based on the RPM and Speed.

If your clutch is slipping(Regardless of if your clutch is bad, your pedal being out of adjustment, or air in the line) then the computer won't be able to calculate what gear you're in as RPM will not match up to speed in it's internal table.

Not to be an ass, but I bet the explanation is between the seat and the pedals.

I've seen people a clutch in a weekend, I've also seen people get 400k km's out of an OEM clutch. It's all in how you drive and how much you're riding the clutch.

Thanks for all the input but i have one more question. If the clutch is worn already, would it still burns at 5th and 6th gear?

Unless you know what to look for, the effect of a worn clutch will first be felt in the tallest gear. As it gets worse you will no longer be able to hook up in progressively lower gears. This will happen pretty quickly. Get it fixed now while you can still drive it to the shop.
