Oh and every time I see a spy photo like this:
I think "What if it's all a ruse and really they are bringing the El Camino SS back"

The LT2 is based on LT1. Nothing special there.
Later models LT6 & LT7 will be flat-plane cranks. However, the test drivers complained a lot about high vibrations from the steering because of its flat-plane firing order. It is exotic for a Chevy, but avoid 1st model year. There were a lot of thermal issues. Have you seen youtube videos of rich Lambo boys redlining the engine in traffic and then suddenly the car catches fire? We're talking 210+ Centigrade under the hood while stopped - enough to melt those plastic intake manifolds. |

Tremec dual-clutch transmissions M1L and M1M. I don't know the differences - I only worked with M1Ms.

So much for the rumor they may continue to build the C7 for a while along with the C8. They've announced they'll be auctioning off the last C7 this summer for charity at Barrett-Jackson on June 28.
That is some good news though. To me that means the C8 will have a base model price similar to the C7. No real reason for it to cost more anyway just because the engine is in the rear. https://www.corvettemuseum.org/next-...-be-auctioned/

The architecture uses GM' all new computer sensors system...also I think the mid engine itself makes it more costly. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzt0teY6duE[/ame] edit |

Yea, I consider that close enough. There was a lot of talk about it being $100K +- when there was discussion about the C7 hanging around for the "low end".

What Supra?
Zupra thunder is about to become even more muted with C8 available around the same time, near the same price, but on paper there looks to be a large gap in base models performance potential in favor of C8. We'll see comparos soon enough. Toyota may be about to see what Supra development delays cost them. |
