Sorry can only tell you what I've seen and tested myself, remember this are both measurements with wheel/tire/sensors all together, and the rpf1 17x9 with 255's vs stock 17x7.5 215's. Hopefully next week I'll be putting some brand new 255 R888R and will update with that weight

yup, and so are the rpf1 17x8 with tires. both are 38 lbs. there is no weight loss by going to the rpf1, just gain width which is nice but not worth the money to change from a brand new set of wheels and tires for me at the moment.

A good place to start with weight reduction is taking out the useless rear seats. The seating material with all the steel seat belt hardware was decent.

i got kids, yo i'm removing spare and getting small battery. i don't live far from work and do not use this car for long trips.

tires are generall around 23-26 lbs. I use MPSS for general reference. I don't know if they are heavier than other performance tires. But as you will see wheel and tire on a rpf1 17x8 is 38 lbs. I'm assuming larger the wheel/tire, more weight.

I read on here sometime ago that removing the spare tire changed the handling dynamics of the car and not for the better...can anyone vouch for that?

makes sense. i'm sure the engineers balanced the car for stock inventory.

I heard the same thing too. I kept the spare for about a year before taking it out. It just feels like you are driving with less fuel in your tank.


I store my emergency bag (jumper cables, medical kit, flashlights, etc.) down there, so there is still a little weight in that location.

Not sure if this is the best place to post this question but figured RS2 owners would see it.

I've had my RS2 for about six months and look forward to driving it every chance I get. Can't say I've felt that way about a car since my 67 Stingray twin top. One relatively minor issue I've noticed is that the temperature setting seems to be wildly inaccurate. In the summer I would have to set it around 62 or less for reasonably cool air and recently when some warming is required I have to keep it in the same area to not get roasted. I admit this is merely my mental comparison to settings in our 2014 Prius or 07 Rav4, both of which have digital climate control. It seems like my required setting in the FRS is around six or seven degrees lower for about the same temp.

My next step is to keep a digital thermometer in the car to get some hard numbers but just thought I'd ask if any other RS2 owners are experiencing the same issue. My thought is perhaps a faulty temp sensor somewhere.

Mine is the same way. I crank it up on a cold morning by once it's warmed up anything for me about 66 is just to damn hot especially if I have it on the vents pointing at me. I usually keep it on the windshield and floor.

@WNCFRS -- You'd probably get some better views if you crosspost this as a new thread as this climate control is the same as the BRZ Limited, FR-S 10 Series, RS 1.0, etc.

I have a similar experience. My quick guess is that it's related to the location of the ambient/interior temperature sensor. If it's not in an area around where the heat is blowing, it's likely that the system will [over]compensate (I haven't bothered to look for it). In a previous car, I set the temp around 72 and never really had to change it. In this, I'm anywhere from 62-68 to keep a similar feeling. The interior is small here, too, so small temperature changes may affect the sensor(s) as well (?).
