Would 195/60/16 work with the stock wheels?

If you want to use 16" tires, get yourself some 16" steelies, or some 16" wheels that will fit (nothing too wide) in a 5x100 bolt pattern.
If you're going to stick with the stock tires and have a shop remount your tires every winter, then get something like 205/50R17. It's a little narrower than the stock tires (so achieving that "narrower is better in snow" theory), but almost the same dimensions otherwise, so your driving dynamics shouldn't change that much. Speedometer is only very slightly off.

honestly @Mattstermh, given that you continually ask about tire size blindly, either 1) you have no idea what you are doing, or 2) you are a troll.
If you aren't trolling us, you really should just save yourself some trouble and have whomever that's going to sell you tires work out the proper size and application for your car. Save us all the trouble of revisiting snow tires on your car in 6 months when it's on the side of the road in a ditch because you wanted to save a few bucks. -alex |

Yes, I don't know what I'm doing, that's why I ask. You coulda been a bit nicer about it - I didn't get the answer I was looking for until now.
I'm not trying to "save a few bucks" at the expense of landing in a ditch (very kind of you to point out, once again). I just want to know that if I buy x tires they will fit on my stock wheels. Really, that simple. |

Posts #4, 7, 10, and 12 all had the answers you were looking for. 17" wheels need 17" tires. Pretty straight forward.
