I got a set for sale !! haha

20mm and 25mm bolt-on style brand new. I was going to keep OEM wheels but ended up caving and buying aftermarket ones.

Calgary/Edmonton BRZ/FRS thread

Hey all! Long time reader. First time poster... If anyone is interested in taking the racing school at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton let me know and I'll get you some info.

It's $690 for two days of drills, track time and professional instruction. At the end you get your competition license. April 30 & May 1.

I have an FR-S that I've race prepped for this track and ran it once last year before life got in the way... I will say though, this is a heck of a car to race! And I think it's going to get even bigger once Toyota rebrands it.

Anyway. Let me know. Happy to help.

Don't you still need to submit the license application + $100 fee + general health checkup prior to getting the license?

AFAIK, isn't the event a school only??

Yes. You are correct! But you cannot do any of the before you have the racing school under your belt.... And the school also introduces you to the Northern Alberta Sport Car Club, helps you get acquainted with the rules of racing, and the executive of the club. If you already have a car that you intend to race, it's a great time to bring it out and have it technically inspected to get ready for the season.

You go through drills that you would never have the opportunity to do on a race day or other track day.

Everyone is out there to have fun (most are not getting rich at a club level) so it is important that the race officials know who you are and you know what's needed to have fun and stay safe!

I was the only FR-S out there last year so it would be great to see another couple

Thanks!

Daryl

Yeah... My dollars are tight too. Racing at a any level is never "cheap". But the one thing I will say is that an FR-S can be made race ready at about $40k or less.

Which is one of the cheapest and most fun racing platform for the the money. Especially for a car built this century.

If anyone wants to talk about turning your FT86 into a racecar (like roll cage, not neon bolt ons). Let me know happy to help!

Thanks again.

As a matter of fact I have first hand experience with cages. I designed mine, built and installed it as well at my shop. I'll send you some info, if anyone else wants info please let me know.
