What I think is happening is the stock FRS has the DRL at low power during driving, off with head lights, full power DRL bulb for high beams. It seems like when you flip your high beams, it's doing the same thing where full power is going to your DRLs which is just the LED strip in this case
You are mostly correct, except for the last statement... In the USDM GT86 style headlights that the 10/1.0/Monogram series have, the HID is both low beams and high beams. USDM base model headlights are as you say, the "inner" DRL bulb acts as both DRL and high beam, the "outer" bulb is low beam only.

The difference between USDM and EDM/JDM GT86 headlights is in the harness plug. USDM is missing a wire, so the LED strip is unpowered when the HIDs are powered (low beam, high beam).

To get EDM/JDM behavior out of USDM GT86 headlights, you need to do some simple wiring, which I had posted links to previously.

That's it.

Now I'm confused, Lol

So, let me get this straight, when you high beam in the USDM headlight (Monogram, 10, 1.0), the LED and the HID projector beams up? So at night when the headlights on, it's just the projector, then when you high beam, the projector will beam up ALONG with the LED beaming up; which makes it the ONLY time the headlight will have the projector and the LED light up together?

Is that what you mean? Or am I completely misreading?

yeah, too many variations makes it hard to describe which is which.

"USDM base model" would be this:

When I referred to the USDM EDM/JDM "GT86 style" headlights, they are these:

Yup, my car is originally the USDM base model, but I recently changed them to the USDM GT86 style that is found in the Monogram/series 10/ TRD 1.0.

So the high beams are with the LED and the projector HID beaming up together? Not sure if I'm reading it correctly, because TB said its just the projector that beams up WITHOUT the LED.

I'm so confused now.

lol...ok, to settle this, your original post is correct:

DRL = LED at its brightest
Parking lamps = LED at its brightest
Headlights = LED OFF, Headlights on with operational High beams (*high beams come from the projector)
