Southern Ontario driving roads

For those of us living in this neck of the woods - how about we start a thread here of good driving roads where we can get the most from the FR-S/BRZ? Links to other sources would be great too.

Not much to offer to this effort myself, except to say when traffic is light I used to find 2 roads in central T.O. fun when I lived there - Mt. Pleasant north of Bloor to about St.Clair; and the Bayview extension south from Moore Ave. Also the 427 collector lanes starting N of Burnamthorpe going to the Eglinton exit can let you really stretch your legs for about a minute LOL...

The Caledon area NW of the GTA is reputed to have great roads but also lots of cops, especially when the leaves change in the fall.

There is no public road where you should be getting the most out of any modern car, unless it's the most fuel economy out of a Prius. There is absolutely zero excuse for that in the GTA. We have a pile of world class tracks and cheap fun tracks within easy reach. 100 bucks gets you a full day of safe stupidity at Cayuga. 400 bucks gets you a weekend of instructed track time at MoSport with BMW CC. Drive a little longer and you're at Shannonville, Watkins Glen, Calabogie, Mont Tremblant... not only is it the honorable thing to do but you also have no idea what it means to get the most out of a car until you've tried these, especially in a school format.

Not looking here really at the GTA, where I agree you really have to pay attention to reasonable limits - more the wilds outside of the city, no-traffic and safe back roads with some nice curves.

There are some great ones but the problem is that they're all well known. If you go during an odd time then you may get some open road. Like the Forks of the Credit - great fun even at 15-20 over but good luck getting a clean run. If it's a sunny day on the weekend, you can bet there will be groups of harleys sputtering along at or below the limit, or large groups of buttplug cruises of various marques. Last week I was heading up to Caledon to see a friend and went through the forks. Got stuck behind a bunch of fuhraze Subarus thinking they were rippin it up, going slower than grandma (floor it, then slam on the brakes and tip toe the corner).

It was my PM to you (and your original post) that gave me the idea for this thread - thanks! :happy0180:
