Anyone in CO want to trade trunks?

I have a SSM limited and I want to trade for a non-spoiler SSM trunk. You'll have to add some cash with your trunk to made the trade fair, if anyone is interested, lmk.

Why should they add any cash? You are getting a trunk lid that is not drilled. Otherwise you would have just taken off the spoiler, no?

I could take off the spoiler, plug up the holes with a rubber grommet and sell the spoiler separately. Doesn't matter to me either way. A hole-less trunk isn't worth $700+ (price of spoiler + install).

This way it'll work out for both of us. I don't have to buy the $1 grommets and they won't have to pay to get the spoiler installed. Check with the dealerships, they won't charge less than $200 for install.

Since you feel a spoiler isn't worth any cash value, when you get your BRZ, why don't you offer to trade it for a non-spoiler trunk for free. I'm sure you will get plenty of offers since you'll get the short end of the deal.

I am calling your bluff on the rubber grommets. Please do this and post a pic.

You don't know anything about modding cars do you? I've done this on my previous sports cars, I don't see how or why it would be any different on a BRZ. If you are going to purchase my spoiler, I will remove it. Otherwise, what's the point of me removing it? Just because some @ss on a forum wants me to?

Btw, I'm calling you out on offering a spoiler for free. If you will do this, I'll remove my spoiler and plug it up with a grommet.

I thought every body panel has matching vin# or something on them, no? Probably better to just plug the hole to retain resale value.
My spoiler looks okay, but I think the 5zigen ones look the best. Just not important enough for me to remove and replace a perfectly fine stock one

One of the reasons I bought a Premium is so I wouldn't have that hideous spoiler on my trunk.

I still don't know what Subaru was thinking.

Honestly, I feel the same way about asking someone to kick in cash to help you make your car look more the way you want it to.

I'm perfectly content with the oem spoiler as well. I would only sell or trade it if there is someone who wanted it, hence the thread. If I really wanted the spoilerless look, I could buy a trunk, have it painted, installed and lose less money than giving the spoiler away for free.

im pretty sure there is a trunk swap thread. also, i think it is worth mentioning that the cost of a spoiler doesnt matter much. if everybody is trying to ditch the spoiler, the non spoiler trunks are going to have more value outside of a dealership

I took out my spoiler and apparently there are 7 holes on it. 4 bolts (2 on each side) and 3 clips in the middle. All those holes look awful even if you put plugs on them.

That's why I went for a trunk swap. I believe me and Chate were the first successful lid swap. I don't think anyone is getting a "short end of the deal" since both of you will be happy with the trade.

We signed and documented our trade so that would at least explain the VIN mismatch.
