Aftermarket Catback (Q300) but using the stock muffler.

I'm interested in putting my stock muffler back on, but retaining my Q300 cat to muffler piping.

Is this possible? I assume I'd lose the sound of the Q300 but retain the flow of the stainless piping of the Q300.

Anyone done something similar?

The other option is to weld the stock tips onto the Q300 muffler I guess.

Just curious... Why would you want to put the stock tips on to the Q300 if the stock muffler didn't bolt up to the Q300 piping?

I'm guessing this has something to do with a ticket/Citation? I just can't imagine anyone getting pulled over with a Q300. I have one with the stock headers, FP, and OP, and I can honestly barely tell the difference between that and stock (Exception being startup).

The stock midpipe flows real well as is, so the gains from retaining the q300 midpipe would be nonexistent.

You're probably the only person to ever say that.

This thread just blew my mind. I don't have anything to even say that can correct any of this.

I'm guessing OP's location is Melbourne, Australia. The exhaust tips for other markets fill in the rear valence way more than the North American market exhaust tips.

If I'm wrong in my guess, yeah this thread makes no sense.
