86 Rear Bumper Swap?

Hey all. I'm surprised that I'm having trouble finding this. If a thread exists, feel free to point me in the right direction.

Does anyone know if the 2017 86 rear bumper is a direct swap with pre-facelift BRZ bumpers? Is any other hardware needed?

I was hit last night (by a tow truck lol). The driver wants to pay for the damages out of pocket. I've been wanting an 86 rear so I can run the Kouki Modellista spats, so this seems like a good opportunity to make the swap. Thanks for any info!

I have no experience but it should be a direct swap.

Can not say definitively since I have not done it but the change document doesn't show any reason why you could not do a straight swap.

That's a really cool document. I appreciate it.

The 2017 BRZ seems to have the same rear bumper as previous models though. It's only the 86 that's different. I suppose as long as the 2017 BRZ and 86 chassis are the same, it should work.... it would be nice to confirm though.

The bumper is essentially a direct swap. The only issue is that since the Kouki bumper extends lower, there are two holes on the bottom that don't directly align with with the frame. The shop used two long fender rivets to secure it.

Did a 86 rear bumper swap on my cousin's 13 FR-S. No fitment issues. Make sure to get the updated tow hook covers though.
