Damn, I wish i can be as tech savy as Tcoat or humfrz when I'm you guy's age.
I actaully added weight to my car cuz I tried doing sound deadening myself.............terrible idea.... I added at least extra 50 lbs to my car. That box was heavy Revolution makes carbon parts so............ probably everything you can changed out to carbon fiber was changed, along with all glass change to acrylic glass, lightweight clutch...... yade yadi yada. http://revo-tune.jp/catalog/products...category_id=12 Last edited by chaoskaze; 02-12-2018 at 07:09 PM. |

While talking about weight. I see everywhere that light cars have carbon doors. I hear everywhere that carbon doors are massively lighter than standard doors. The thing is, I also heard that CF hoods are way lighter than OEM hoods, but it doesnt hold for the twins because of the aluminium hood. So does anyone knows how much a carbon door usually weights and how much a OEM door weights? This might be the first thing I do when the car becomes a trailer car if the gains in weight reduction are half as impressive as people say they are.

Just FYI a lot of ultra light stripped cars I see are death traps. If it's a dedicated track car and you've got a light fixed back seat, no airbag, etc., you better have more than a harness bar.

Again, this is a TT car. I will never do competitif wheel to wheel racing on it. I've seen way too many people with lots of cash and virtually 0 skill playing bumper cars in wheel to wheel racing. I dont have that kind of money and I certainly wont enjoy putting my car out there for their pleasure. |

You can definitely do it right and have it be lightweight AND safe.
Also, I think more TT cars should have full cages. The TRD Griffon is a fantastic car but it seriously bothers me that it has minimal safety equipment. No cage, not even a roll bar, and a poorly mounted harness system that wouldn't pass tech at 99% of track events. It's irresponsible for a factory backed build (that many will try to emulate) to have such a half-assed approach to safety. - Andrew |

You mean no dash, door panels, with stock seat and a harness bar isn't safe?

Whoa, check out the angle of the harness behind the seats. WTF? That's terrible.
