I actually have the same issue or non-issue just like Rinzler. it is good to know that is normal. Maybe it is a Maryland thing lol.

I have question about clutch adjustment. So basically , you adjust the clutch pedal height and also the grab point will following the height? Just wondering if you low the clutch a lot , does the clutch could be grind all the time when release it when driving .

There's a few videos on youtube about this already. You should go watch it -- When you adjust the clutch height, the engagement is automatically adjusted since that's the 1st thing you will be moving is the rod that raises or lowers the clutch pedal.

The engagement is inherently going to be adjusted lower since it's a ratio thing. The only thing that you have to be concerned about is the clutch spring and boot. If you adjust it too low then there are incidents that the clutch won't spring back (someone on this thread had this issue).

Did this today...EXTREMELY easy! I found after a lot of trial and error th clutch felt best for me atexactly two turns... A HUGE improvement over stock...no more over revving!

Did this a couple days ago, finally, and it does feel better. I have the clutch pedal sitting about even with the brake pedal, still a bit of dead play, but much less than before.

Couple of tips: If you have a creeper, or something you can set your feet on while you twist and turn the various bits under the dash, it takes a lot of stress off the back. Also, if you don't have a metric wrench set, a standard 1/2" (for 12mm) and 9/16" (for 14mm) wrench will work.

Thanks a lot for the write-up. I will be doing this either later today or tomorrow. The clutch height is the one thing that made me struggle while driving this car when I first got it. I finally got use to the height and I'm able to shift a lot smoother, but I would prefer to lower the clutch if I can.

Made this adjustment a couple weeks ago and now it feels like driving a new car. My previous car actually had a much higher grab that I was used to but after driving BRZ for some time it seemed too high for the car. The clutch pedal is now positioned just below the brake.

Thanks for posting this, very easy adjustment. I made the clutch about even with the brake as many other have, and it feels much better to me. I only drove the car for two days after getting it before I made the change. The short time in the uncomfortable position pays off.

I did this a long while ago and have yet to have any issues. For stop and go traffic it is a must. For back roads driving and track driving it allows for a better seating position due to you don't have a awkward length for your left leg (unless your left leg is massively shorter then your right). To not do this free mod that allows this car to be that much better of a sports car is blasphemous

Wow, nice. I've been driving my new FRS for a couple of weeks now and have been getting annoyed at the clutch engagement. Can't wait to try this our.

Anyone else find it hard to screw the bolt in? After a couple turns, it just stops going with my hand; now Im unable to turn it either way and it is stuck in its position

also, should the bolt be threading in deeper, or should it be going out more (closer towards firewall) if I want the grab point to be closer?

Heya, you have to use your other hand to put pressure on the face of the pedal while you screw it in with your other hand; this relieves the pressure from the threads & will get you unstuck =p

You are going to be threading into the pedal & away from the firewall, in order to bring the grab point closer to the floor.
