@accelerated , I'm running into the exact same issue.

Also where is IT3System.ini ?

IMHO trying to use the Tatrix is not worth the $27 saved for a china cable. There are two issues. First is that the original crack no longer works and second you would have to use a different laptop than what you use for ECUFLASH because you have to use the std driver.

If I am wrong let me know.

Which key are you using? I was trying with a Toyota "G" key because they didn't have the correct Scion one in stock. The factory FR-S key has the "G" on the base of the key blade just like the Toyota key I had cut and tried to add but I was unable to do it with my TechStream and the dealer was unsuccessful with theirs as well.

I'm using the Scion key.

The tatrix should work if you download their J2534 open port 2.0 drivers. The problem with that is then you can't use ecuflash.

My laptop has Win7x64 and a small separate partition for winXP. Since techstream won't work with 64 bit and I don't have room for a second xp partition, I'm afraid it makes most since to just buy the china cable. I have ecutech on XP for 32 bit stability. Its to bad you can't have Ecuflash and the generic tatrix J2534 drivers under the same OS.

I may try the techstream on the win 7x64 partition with the Tatrix driver.

Do you happen to have the part number for the Scion Key you're trying to use and does it have the "G" on the base of the key blade? Also, is it a master key or a valet key? Doesn't matter for programming, just curious if you had the part number and know which one it is.

Anyone find it strange that Tatrix cable owners aren't getting this to work? Aren't the china cables supposed to be a copy of that cable. We must be missing something.

Do you know for sure that key is intended to be used with the FRS? I know they said they have a special key that has to be ordered when I first said lets try the Toyota G key.

That's the only thing that hasn't worked with my Tatrix/TechStream setup and it didn't work for the dealer so I'm guessing the issue isn't with the cable.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but those with Tatrix cables are able to change TPMS while those with china knock-offs can not.

I didn't have any trouble with the key in using the Tatrix to flash the latest Rom? Man I would hate to have to buy a new key they are expensive.

where is the tis file you have to change? when I try to register using the code, it just keeps popping up the same box over and over. using the newest version that's posted on page 1

on the install instructions that come with it. it says "

Edit file c:\Program Files\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\bin\VerApp.ini

what do I edit in that file?
