You should read the Vorshlag thread on ECU options.

These two allow full ECU removal, they support the factory CAN:

Emtron KV8
Motec M150

I have experience with both but prefer the Emtron.

Thanks, I have read through it. As I keep reading, it seems a standalone is not the most effective solution for my build. The one and only reason for me to want any of those standalones is CAN integration for the car systems (A/C, PS, Dash working, ABS, water temp gauge, fuel gauge, Cruise Control).

It seems in the near future, MRS Colin CAN device will be able to deliver most (if not all) of this without the price tag of a standalone.

The motor is supposed to arrive today. I will post pictures when I get it.
