DIY drop-in filter?

Since the stock intake is a CAI that's already pretty good, I was thinking one could use high-quality reticulated polyurethane foam in place of the stock filter to free up the air restriction. I guess the trick is to find the correct PPI (pores per inch). I am not sure if this would be grounds for invalidating the warranty though. Just a thought...

Or at least know what you're doing or otherwise harm your engine. Nothing worse than an amateur engineer.

Just get rid of the filter altogether...all it does is restrict airflow...

Bugs are like nitrous. They both do bad things to your engine after time. I mean...they both give you more power. Forget the intake all together... and call it a day.
