Driving through Montana, which route?
Going east to west. Mostly just for fun to get back to Oregon, but also to look
for a place to live, not too expensive if such a thing is possible. Which route to take? 94 to 90 or 2? Anything I really need to see? Thanks! |

Take the 94 to 90 , The only thing worth seeing is West Yellowstone if you have time to go through the state park. Might see a bear
I grew up in Bozeman Montana, beautiful place for the 2 months a year its not snowing |

When? Still lots of snow around. Even I90 could be mushy.
Where are you starting on the east end? In better weather I'd do 2 for Glacier and north Idaho. Or 12 over Lolo pass and Lewiston then 129/3 for Rattlesnake Grade to La Grande. The freeways bore the heck out of me.

LOL- the good- driving through Montana with no speed limits!
the bad- in an FRS Well, maybe you can at least see what the max speed is. If the roads are as long out there as I hear LOL |

No speed limit is gone, IIRC. What's wrong with driving in an 86? No curves? OK by me, I can look at the scenery!

I'm J/K, thinking of a straight road whre you can run as fast as you want- not necessarily the strong point of this car. But I imagine there are awesome mountain roads out there

I know it's not exactly the normal beaten path, but I love the drive past Flat head lake and Clipping the West Glacier National Park Area.
Take I90 until you get Missoula, then Turn north on Hwy 93. To get back to the main route you'll have to turn West when you get to Kalispell on Hwy 2 and go into Idaho that way. You can turn south around Bonners Ferry to get back down to Coeur d'Alene and continue on I90 to Seattle and then down. It's a 300 mile detour, but if you are looking for some scenery and some fun roads it's the way to go. https://goo.gl/maps/518vBCM1z2K2 (That route has you going around the East side of Flathead Lake. I perfer going around the West side, but it's alot slower.)
