Jealous! Excited to get mine, hopefully they get shipped in about a month like yours.
So worked on fuel stuff as there isn't much else I can do (lots to do, just didn't want to get too deep into it tonight) Modified one of the hard line clips, they are a right pain to get off, ended up breaking this one on accident. Cut the fuel hard lines under the car and attached the rubber hose. I have a slight concern these pop off because they aren't barbed or anything, but should be fine. I will watch them closely. Here is why 45 degree fittings would be nice, the barbs stick out, making the hose fitting a little less than ideal. Will have those on the way Monday. Contemplating ordering some DEI Floor and Tunnel Shields II while I am it. I ordered the wrong size barb fittings, so until those come in I couldn't go much further. I moved on to relocating the Flex fuel sensor. I wanted to kind of hide it while providing a decent routing for the fuel hose. I tried a few different locations. Last picture shows where I will most likely have it set. Plan on making a little stronger of a bracket. Almost fits perfect with a mounting hole and everything, except strut bar and top brake line is in the way. Then tried below the brake lines. I didn't quite like how the harness routed. Wish there was a better location to hide the wires. Maybe drill and grommet into the frame rail (straight down), Then come out where the crash beam originally is bolted to. Really like this location. Really clean, and should route the fuel hose well. I'll stick a straight hose end on the fitting closest to the brake booster.

Looking at these mounts, I think you'll be happy you waited on the Vorshlag parts. They appear to have been built really well.

Put more work in on the car. Mostly just trying to clean up wiring. Moved the ABS wiring up into the fender. Everything except A/C reaches perfect. I have to re-wire A/C plug anyway. I also decided to just do a return fuel system. I'll make sure to post a list of what I am getting to help anyone else. I was sent a link to a place where you can buy just the FPR Blank for the factory tank. Seems I saved almost $300 building it myself. I'll have to double check that number though. I also got the headers in. They look super good, although they are 2.5" so that will need modified.

For Return Fuel system (and I might have enough to do a feed as well). I ordered the FPR Blank from Vit Viper (Product Page Here)
They talked about installing a return system Here. Made ANOTHER order to Summit: Aeromotive EFI FPR w/fittings and Gauge DEi Fire sleeve to wrap the feed and return lines by headers Holley Fuel Rail (Really wanted the Fore Innovations Rails, but wasn't worth the extra money to me) Russel 90 degree -6AN bulkhead fitting Russel -6 bulkhead washer Russel -6 bulkhead nut -6 AN wrench 20' of Vibrant -6AN Black/Blue Hose 6 x -6 Vibrant Straight fittings 2 x -6 Vibrant 45 fittings 2 x -6 Vibrant 90 fittings Really hoping I have enough fittings, trying to route the lines in my head without the engine in the bay wasn't working out too well. Interesting thing to note is the fuel filter is a part of the fuel pump assembly, so an external isn't necessary. Save some money there. 2.5" Collector 1 7/8 Tubing

Those, look nice! I'd look into having them ceramic coated after you modify them to reduce the heat around the engine.

Got the Slave and Speed Bleed Line in yesterday. They shipped the box full of Shredded paper I didn't really ever think of how large the slave/TOB would be. A lot larger than any 4 cyl one I have dealt with haha.

I haven't decided yet. Have you chosen yet?
Edit: Already looking at nitrous kits. I really need to stop and get used to the power it's going to have. Also I have 9 weeks to get the car finished (Big Car meet with a lot friends). No Rush though

No I have not...just thought about it today. On the nitrous...I've been thinking about it but that brings up the fuel system again. I'm pretty sure the walbro 485 kit from full blown that I have will be enough for the motor...I'm not really sure that it wil feed the motor and the nitrous system...I'm not even sure that the walbro set up I have is my final fuel system but it should be a good start if not good overall. Our cars should be really fast out of the gate anyway! Last edited by ILLSMOQ; 04-11-2017 at 03:58 PM. |
