Oil Cooler Comparisons?

Hi, new to the forum and have done searches on available options, but haven't seen anyone compare fit/finish/build/experience on oil cooler options.
1. WORKs oil cooler (no external radiator) Seems like an ok solution, uses a T stat to click open once temp is reached and circulates coolant to cool?
2. Perrin Oil Cooler (external setrab). Don't like the external, additional core, especially if I want to go FI down the line.
3. Jackson Racing oil cooler; don't like the dual purpose of this, but open to thoughts?

I'm looking into a BRZ as a track only car for events in the northeast (NJ thunder/lightning; CT limerock; Willow; Pocono), so need to make sure temps stay reasonable (I will be also exploring the Koyo radiator).

Seems more thought out than that Cusco one released 3 years ago...

It's the same piece. Cusco is also the same unit as what I am using....but it can be found for just over $200.00. It works great, been running it for awhile now. Even at 10 PSI in the Florida summer I haven't had any real trouble with oil temps. It isn't at effective at capping out the maximum temps but there are a lot of benefits as it's always cooling even in gridlock traffic at a stop.

Unless you are using a water cooled turbo like a GTX series you can bypass and use the coolant loop for the throttle body to feed and drain the cooler....super easy install.

If you plan to go FI, get yourself an oil cooler with an external core, you're going to want it if you drive your car hard or do any sort of AutoX/Track Days or drifting.

I had the Blitz cooler on with good results.
The side-mounted location also allows FMIC to be installed without blocking airflow.

The Works cooler is basically OEM FA20DIT cooler w/ their own sticker on the cooler.

It is okay for autocross and street use. Track with stock engine is borderline acceptable, track with FI is asking for a new motor.

If you're thinking of getting a radiator and an oil cooler, why not get this? It'll likely be cheaper than two separate purchases. And less parts means, easier install, and more reliability.

1. Similar to the FA20DIT unit and Cusco unit. With sufficient pace, you will make oil temps quite high.

2. Perrin is sized, literally, for factory power. Anymore, and you can overheat.

3. Jackson Racing external oil cooler is a stout piece. The Setrab unit has almost 2x cooling capacity over the Perrin Setrab unit.

4. Jackson Racing Radiator/Oil Cooler is a well tested piece as well. Oil cooling capacity is very close to the external oil cooler kit.

FWIW

I use the Kate cool Oil cooler.. I can't speak for track days, but it does a good job of keeping the oil temps a lot cooler than they were N/A while drifting even with my Turbo setup now

I can say that on the street, it cools right down even at low speed as air begins moving through it.

the works one just like the OEM one from subaru for wrxs. I had the WRX one for about 2 years, it helps warming up the car, its quite helpful for daily driving, but even spirited driving would sky rocket the oil temp, not to mention track use...
no idea about the perrin one
I currently have the jackson racing dual cooler, it helps warming up the car. best of all it keeps oil temps about 105C on track
