For what it is worth ST18 wasn't screwing with you. From what I can tell from where he lives he is right. Jeeps being driven as Jeeps would be scarce there.

Easy to tell the mall crawlers around here (doors on or off) since they will be the ones with the heavy coat of mud all in one colour, a 5 year old winch cable still in the factory winding position with the caution tag on the end, perfectly intact and unmarked bumpers and fender flairs and a nice cover on the spare saying how great the Jeep life is. The real thing will be clean or have layers of different mud, the winch cable will look like a mangled slinky, the bumpers and flairs will be bent, cracked or scrapped and if there is even a spare tire it will not be covered.

I have never owned a Jeep but used to have a blast dune running, trail blazing or even rock climbing in the old military pattern Dodge Power Wagons or Kaiser Jeeps.
Not really sure why I got hammered when this thread was about resale value and others brought up Tacoma’s, other vehicles and I bring up Jeep since I’m an owner and resale it compares very well to Tacoma’s, better here. Another person said do I even have 86? I made it clear originally I don’t but like them and it’s a strong contender for my second dd purchase. Why do any of us buy certain vehicles? From time I was young kid I loved big tonka trucks, Jeeps, running over and through crap, but also loved sports cars. I want both! The hate for Jeep owners because they don’t always off-road has always confused me. Mustang and Camaro owners buy V8 engines, necessary? Nope, but fun. Do they all track? Nope. Are they less than if they don’t? Nope. I hate tire covers, and I agree some Jeep owners are d-bags with certain covers, stickers, winches they have. But I love mine and certainly won’t apologize for being a proud owner. Just like if I become 86 owner, won’t apologize either regardless of what s*** talkers say about torque dip.

My Grandfather was in WW2 and drove Jeeps, he still liked Jeeps and trucks. A little different than a true Army Jeep, ya think? Best convertible in my personal opinion. I totally understand why some don’t like them, they certainly aren’t for everyone, but those of us who do understand.

Well Extra was just being Extra he is actually a good guy and you get used to his manner. Jordan loves to get people worked up and it succeeded. He also isn't so bad once you understand that. The others were really just bantering.

As far as the rest goes there are many that know the 86 is just a good little car and others that think it is the greatest thing ever made and take anything that can be interpreted as a slam straight to heart. Some others have an impression that they should be getting an $60K muscle car with all the abilities of a sports car for $25K. They then want to be able to sell it a year later for $28K because they are bored and want to go to something else. Don't be fooled by the race car talk on here all the time. The vast majority of the driver don't ever see the track and a good amount of the performance "upgrades" never see any real world use no matter how much some talk about them. In other words it is just about the same as any other car forum out there.

Oh, I have nothing against jeeps or jeep owners.

If I lived on a ranch in Montana, I'd have a jeep .....

Actually, I have taken my FR-S places that I should have had a jeep ....

You definitely didn't read the post about the Ecoboost Mustang that I do not own very well. And damn dude, you're a racist.

Because you have a thin skin, are easily offended and respond with silly outrage over minor injuries to your pride. My mall crawler post was not directed at you personally, but you took it that way, which makes it seem like it hit close to home. I own a Cherokee, and if you said, "Most Cherokee owners are hillbillies who inherited their Jeeps when they mowed the lawn in front of Pawpaw's trailer after he died from snorting bath salts," I wouldn't be offended by that at all. Get over it and order another light bar to make yourself feel better.

Not only did I not feel it was racist but his description was pretty spot on as far as generalizations go. The only part I would question would be the "gangsta wannabes" since that is only about 40% of the Toronto population. Most are actually in IT.

Nah ....... I figure that's just @Jordanwolf ...... trying to express himself. By his own admission, he sometimes just grabs words and tosses them into sentences.
