Got in contact with Dave from Headgames and he is going to send me the assortment of lash caps. We measured the lash ourselves and will be doing this in house to help speed up the process.

So i was able to get measurements for every single lash cap available from Subaru directly. They sell the caps individually by size varying every .001 of an inch. Ill post pics later today of the list. We measure each lash and pick a cap. Tedious but will be worth it in the end.

I doubt they'd be out of stock. It's standard practice when rebuilding an engine to measure and buy appropriately.

Guaranteed there will be something wrong. Box/invoice will say .002" and the part will be a .200" or something.

I only go off what Brandon tells me. I just want him to have his car back ASAP with a reliable engine. I don't do mass e-mails.

First off I wanted to mention because some people like to give this project a time frame. We had agreed with @Frs300 to bring the car to us to tighten up some loose ends, tune the car and give him back a 100 percent perfect vehicle to enjoy. Since FRS300 had been royally screwed over time and time again and he being in the military, we along with Junior agreed to do the labor and tuning 100% FREE of charge. Any parts needed would be covered by FRS300 at our cost.

Car arrived and notice a nasty tick coming from the head plus the car smoking quite heavily. We pull the motor and discover, other than the missing/stolen parts, that the one cylinder head was not torqued down whatsoever and some head studs were hand tightened. This led to the cylinder head lifting and coolant mixing with engine oil. This caused heavy scoring throughout the cam journals, cylinder walls, rod and main bearings, crankshaft etc. The motor needed a complete overhaul. Heads were sent out to Headgames to repair and set the lash properly which due to the high volume of work they do, we only received the heads back recently. The block is at the machine shop also being honed, cleaned and pressure tested. New piston rings were ordered from CP which have taken an eternity and still waiting to come in. Rod and main bearings are here.

I maintain communication with FRS every single day via text or facebook PM. Unfortunately for him though is that we was dismissed from the military 6 months too soon and we both agreed to hold off on the project for some time since the cost of parts would have been too much for him to bare until he was able to find a job and get priorities straight. Luckily everything is looking up for him and we are currently only waiting on piston rings to resume reassembling his motor and getting his car out to him. He was able to send me a clutch disk to replace his old one that was "misplaced" by Toni.

P&L Motorsports was also kind enough to send him one of their kits because he was so turned off with the FA20club offering. We will be using the PTE 6266 with the P&L kit and also adding a Flex Fuel kit, ARP Head Studs (toni reused the originals), Full Blown Oil Cooler, FBM Fuel Pump Kit and Mishimoto Radiator to the mix.
Good on you guys. That's heartwarming. Respect.

So do we all, dont understand the need for the same constant comments.

As for updates, these showed up this past week

Lash is set now and the long block is back together. Just need to assemble accessories and drop the motor in before break in and eventual tune. Fingers crossed there are no more snags in the road.
