You're speaking visually correct?

Because I couldn't get my +45s to rub even when I pulled the springs out.

Oh yea I'm talking visually, previously in the thread people were complaining that the 35s had way too much poke with 245s, and the only way to correct it was with some camber.

That's good to know ! I think I found a deal on RPF1s with +45 ... even though still it's looking like the +35 a better choice. Especially since I think I'll stay stock suspension for a while.

Hey friend, would it be possible to get a birds eye picture of the front wheels poke, much like you have for the rear end. Otherwise, these pictures are great for reference ty

Will this (RPF1 17x9 +45 with 245/40 tyres) happen even on coilovers? And will that be the only issue with rubbing? No touching tie rods?

I'm in the process of making this same decision of +35 or +45, and I prefer the look of the +45s but it seems the +35 has less rubbing issues.

No you will not have rubbing issues on Coilovers. Coilovers dont have the spring perches like the OEM shock/spring so you'll have more clearance. Typically a lower offset is desirable for clearance and looks, but its all personal preference. You'll be fine with a 17x9 +45 on coilovers.

Yes, wheel to fender liner clearance is not affected by aftermarket coilovers. Some cars may be different, as above I use a 5mm spacer with extended studs and am quite happy.
I was under the impression 45s rubbed on stock struts but apparently others disagree, I never tried it.
No other rubs to my knowledge.

Thanks for the reply. I'm on coilovers so not too worried about the clearance around the stock struts anymore.

But if the tyres rub the the fender liner with +45 without spacers but don't rub at all with the +35, I'd be tempted to go the +35 despite the slightly more flush look just to avoid using spacers.

Would Enkei RPF1 Wheels 17x8 +45mm be really sunken in and look bad? I would be getting coilovers at some point at the end of the summer (if that can fix anything).

Everyone here seems to prefer the 9's but 8's still seem like a good improvement over the stock rims. I'm less interested in looks as I am in maximizing the performance of the vehicle. What specific trade-offs are there? More traction versus less weight/better fuel economy? I won't be putting a turbo or supercharger on it (at least not for awhile) and I don't want to put too much tire on the car for its current power levels.

Making the right wheel choice is harder than I thought it would be.

Help, 17x9 +35 or +45 RPF1?

Sorry I don’t have a better picture, but here is 17x8+45 with a 245/40/17 tire.

If you ever plan to use a big brake kit, the 17x9 often causes fitment issues.
