Hence, how nice the Karcepts one would be!

re: header /tuning

Looks like i am gonna start looking for a header and getting a tune, any of you guys have items you absolutely don't recommend? Was looking at Ace 350 (pricey but seems worth it) JDL 421 and Tomei, I don't want UEL, actually don't like the sound etc. and not sure with the tuning tool yet. Then plan on trying to learn how to drive it this coming year and not be beat by a DS BRZ again. At least on my 2nd event i was alot closer to beating him.

Can't go wrong with any of those options.

I've had the Tomei and now run JDL 4-2-1. Both make good power in different ways

@M0nk3y What tune are you running for the JDL 4-2-1?

Same here. I had the tomei EL using OFT standard tune files. It came on Hard around 5k and pulled good to the top. Still had a noticeable torque dip but much improved.
The JDL 4-2-1 was a clear improvement all around. I got a customized tune from OFT which I believe provides some benefit.
This all purely by way of butt dyno.
So the JDL is of course a good bit more cash than the tomei, and the Ace is way beyond that.
So depends on what you're willing to spend and at what point the bang-for-the-buck doesn't work. I'm very happy with the cost and performance ratio the JDL provides.

Same experience as bmac on the Tomei
Tomei short tube EL + OFT is a fine budget solution (used parts means <$1k) that leaves low end torque on the table vs the Tomei/JDL UEL+OFT.
If I was going long tube either ACE or JDL I'd spend the extra money on an ECUTek tune from someone reputable.

Time for a 2020 thread? I'm looking to collect parts for a build later this year, curious about what to watch for in the classifieds.

racer x links

Dude, u jinxed me..... i was having no issues with my racer x links for about 2000miles, and boom starting have noise in front end, checked to see if something was loose etc and the bottom bushing on passenger was seized. i mean not at an extreme angle either, it was immovable, ie put it into a vice and had to smack the hell out of it with a rubber mallet to get it to move a 1/4 inch. It was removed with the car on ramps so it was easy to remove being they weren't loaded due to installed with preload. After 15minutes of trying to pack grease into it and pounding away i got it to move but its far from freely moving lol i messaged racer x and hoping for a replacement being only purchased a few months ago. Oddly enough the rest of the bushings are perfect, i do remember at installation one was a bit stiffer, i bet it ended up it was this one.

ive Only had issues with whiteline endlinks ive stripped the threads after two events a friend of mine killed the ball joints within 6 months. another guy snapped his (granted im not sure it was autox or track related but more..... extracirricular pleasures?)

And so far havent had issues with the racerx endlinks but i would hazard to guess they arent coated for antisieze or rust so they might need some copper shit

re:links

Thankfully greasing and cleaning i finally got it moving fairly decently, no noise now! Def change in handling also which maybe is in my head not sure but feels more planted.

Any whiteline parts NOT STX legal?

Is the IRP grey area, or is it not STX legal?

Say you want to run the TS wing, can you run it because it was a factory option or you need to"convert" your car to a TS package?

If you have to convert, what does that entail in its entirety?
