If I would have wanted a more power, I would have bought a different car.

OMG!! 50 HP extra and a targa top would be GREAT!!!!!! The icing on the cake would be all the features of the 86 and no crickets! That would make me trade in my 10 Series or buy it to keep as a second twin in the family.

I think a convertible looks good but I like the pagoda style metal roof over my head that doesn't leak, squeak/whistle/howl, or is prime target for vandals -more power wins.

Power. Easy choice for me. I'm actually glad I didn't even get a sunroof let alone a drop top.

Heavier convertible with stock power? Is this real life?

What has the entire community been begging for since the car's release? Oh yes, a convertible. Silly me.

Toyota can build their convertible and then Subaru needs to slap them over the head with an engine upgrade.

I'm content with the car, but would whole-heartedly welcome the same car with a 2.5L or turbo engine. No convertibles. Ever.

It has enough power...

Demanding more power is a slippery slope which typically ends up with a larger, heavier, more technology-intensive, more expensive car with better performance which is somehow less fun to drive.

my last 2 cars were convertibles. i'm tired of the maintenance.. i'd much rather have a sun roof and more power..

Power. I don't care for convertibles much.

Does it have enough torque? A 2.5L NA would not be any more outrageous than the current 2L. A turbo or supercharger will add weight but the aftermarket has already shown it doesn't alter the driving experience.

It's a slippery slope when you're a luxury sports car manufacturer and people demand every amenity under the sun AND lofty performance numbers (see BMW). Toyota & Subaru have already demonstrated they don't care if people want powered seats & steering wheel controls. I agree with you, though. I already own the original so if the new one sucks it only makes mine more desirable.

Please stop making a convertible out of every good sports car! All it does is add more weight, more flex and more moving/breakable parts.

Neither.

Convertible = more weight and/or less structural rigidity
Mo Powah = not convinced this is easy, there will be sacrifices ($$$, weight, c.g., character)

Very glad I got a '13, especially with idle talk of an I4 or oem turbo.
