The only way to compare 2 different things is find a common denominator. Ie current HP/stock HP x miles ran as such to get a number that can be compared. So is the 2jz better? Use the equation and find out.
how does that determine anything lol?

There are so many variables that come in to play with rod bearing failures. Debris in the oil, debris in crank or rod oil passages, oil pump cavitation, heat, improper installation and the list goes on and on.

You can't just say the bearings are "weak" until you can do a root cause analysis into why it failed. I'm pretty sure no one has went that far except Subaru when one was returned to the factory.

Are you joking? Maths... A form of communication directly comparable as long as the base formula stays the same...

your compareing a 2j that has 100,000+++ miles on the car at what ever variable.. to a fa that just entered the game with power. i think the most miles with good power is at 20,000 miles lol.... and second your "maths" doesnt make sense. Help me understand? i dont want to be rude. I would like to understand your logic. If you compared Fa20 vs fa20 then maybe but not fa20 vs 2j that david vs goliath. lol

Only thing that concerns me about getting a turbo kit from any of these great vendors is one thing...... They are 2-5 states away and I do not have the time to to spend 2+ days taking a car to a shop to get tuned. I would need a second car at least...

Or the offset rods ? That puts a lot of stress on the rod bearings.

Depends . The Japan only FA20T OEM Subaru engine being used in the Legacy GT which sells for less than the GT86 (including AWD.) That engine probably costs within a few hundred dollars to produce than the FA20 and could have been used with the versions of the AZ6 used in the RX8 and S15 which would not have added any cost.

The only reason this car doesn't have a turbo was Tada's insistence to extract 200hp from the 2L specifically restricting it to NA, he just doesn't like turbos. He wanted a car with "instant" throttle response. With the torque dip and the tiny power band after I think he realizes it didn't work out like he wanted.
