Thanks. Shaking car would suck for sure. I am tempted to be the guinea pig who tries the solid mounts though. Best part is they won't need maintenance...

BTDT

While the part itself may not need "maintenance", the rest of the shaking car will have bolts loosen or cracks developing, etc...

Definitely lowers the driving experience down to annoying lol...

But stiffening the mount should prevent movement regardless of what they screwed up.
Do you have a short shifter? The TRD one came loose real easily and had similar symptoms to what you describe. Could be shift bushing or spring got screwed up or even left off.

These are full replacement, so we'd have to be careful with metal content. From the under car videos I've seen it seems like most of the movement is in the cradle bushings anyway.
The ones at the back of the diff, and the outriggers. I only used inserts, not replacements. I said both because people like @DocWalt have only used some of them due to noise, but I guess that was probably confusing.

If the engine mounts weren't such a pain, I'd be tempted to try the Perrin version, but not sure I want to try that install again any time soon. Good 'nuff.

I'll also second the thought that nothing you can do with bushings will help. Any other options for places to take the car? I'd hesitate to put bushings on the chance the shop DID screw it up, and the bushings end up being blamed (even though they weren't there at the time...) Probably had a kid that didn't know how to drive stick moving the car and bent a fork. The ONE time I stopped for the free (touchless) car wash the poor kid came in and the service manager took it through, but he was so pissed... and I realized it wasn't worth the free cleanup. I was also getting stuff to do an oil change, so wasn't a wasted trip, but... oy.

You mean OFT with an OTS map? It should be pretty close, but not as good as a custom tune of course.

I ran OFT on my FRS, even with the OTS map for a while. But we eventually dyno tuned it. Same power as my 2017 with ECUtek.

I'm running an ots oft map with a JDL header, good enough to win Dixie this year. Planning to get a custom tune this summer and ditch the oft though...

Update on my drama: took it back to the dealership and I'm glad I did. There is a plate that sits on top of the transmission/under the console that helps line up the shifter. On Toyotas, this plate locks into place and there's basically only one correct position for it. On Subarus, this plate can slide around and must be positioned correctly or there can be shifting problems.

Thanks to everyone who had advice. Car shifts great now.

With JDL UEL, muffler delete, and OFT OTS tune my car ran 14.49@95MPH at 1200' elevation. YMMV.

I do plan to get a dyno tune this year if budget allows, but it's probably last on the list.

I know it has been talked about in the past on here but did we come to an official interpretation about Launch Control as available on OFT? Have my first ProSolo next weekend and don't wanna be that guy.

You don't really need launch control, if that makes the decision easier

What interpretation are you talking about? If you have launch control you can use it in ST, unless I am missing something.

Now that I know how oft launch control works I think it's fine since it's just a rev limiter that gets released at a certain speed. I think you could be all nitpicky and call it a modification of traction control (explicitly not allowed) since it's pulling wheel speed data, but it's not doing anything advanced like calculating speed differentials between wheels or anything.

I bet if there's someone old school running the event there could be a hubbub, but meh.

I remember someone wondering if it'd be ST* illegal due to the phrase "Traction Control Parameters may not be altered" in 14.10.F

I just want to make sure I'm adhering to all the rules.
(not that anyone protests DFL anyways...)
