any other 40ish people here?

Hey guys just wondering if there are any others here that remember the 70's and early 80's. There seems to be a bunch of the younger generation on this forum, not that there's anything wrong with that, what we don't have in exuberance, we make up for in "been there, done that." lol.

Just curious what you all have done your twin to make it your own.
Me? TRD springs, armrest and weather-tech floormats. I don't plan to mod mine in excess, eventually add Open flash tune and header. I still own my Integra type R clone for track days and weekend abusing (endless money-pit). There's not much left stock on that car.

So far I absolutely enjoy my FR-S, Great balance, and wonderfully inadequate tires make for a lot of sideways fun.

I autocross mine, BRZ with Koni's, Ferrodo pads, front sway bar & end links, oils Rival's. All for CS class
Actually thinking of moving up to STX mid season. I'm bored

Mid 40s here. I learned how to drive in MGs, and my first car was a 1970 Triumph TR6. The way my BRZ squats into turns reminds me a lot of the insane MGB my dad built.

I haven't done a whole lot to mine. I just got the windows tinted (today, in fact). I have a set of wider rims for it, but I'm waiting until I burn off the stock tires before putting them on the car. I also have an oil pressure gauge for it, but I haven't had the time to install it because it's going to take some cutting and soldering to make it work.

I might drive this car until the engine goes, then rebuild it and see how much power I can pull out of it naturally aspirated. Or I might trade it in on the next gen model if they make significant improvements. Until then, I'm pretty happy with it stock.

Fastwhite, I used to run the the STS class with my older civic and soon again with my Integra, whenever I get her back together. I've always been fond of test and tune, there's not much more fun than completely ruining a set of tires in one day.

I remember seeing Star Wars as a little kid back in '77. Learned how to drive a manual on a '92 Sentra XE and mastered it on a used '86 RX-7 Sport Edition. To make the twin my own I just swapped all the bulbs with LEDs, PPF, OEM mud guards/mats/fog lights, and Subaru trunk lid carpet. I like the car just the way it is but I'm thinking about front and rear Cusco braces and maybe TOMS tail lights.

Old enough to know better. Well this almost sixty ish guy just keeps on truckin and into my, like tenth build.
I was already a working stiff when I saw Star Wars. I remember the very first Run Run Shaw movie to come to North America. What was it?
My first car was a beat up old 72 corolla. Traded it for a stereo system. Then a 76 chevette, put a no float carburetor on that one. Then a string of Fiat X1/9's. 76 firebird small block 400(fast). A fully built 75 Celica, street. Al this before the nineties.
Old enough to know better indeed.
Boredom can be a baaaaad thing.

Just hit 45 when I went to the dealer to initially try and buy my FRS...had to wait a month after that though for the 2015s to come in stock to buy mine

GREAT TOPIC. No offense to the younger ppl but my perception of the Scion brand was "young ppl's car". I'm 43 and did not want to look like someone trying to recapture their youth. The FR-S/BRZ seem to transcend all the preconceived notions and stereotypes as I've seen quite a few older men and women in this car since I acquired mine. That is extremely encouraging on a number of fronts but mostly for me it says "been there, done that" AND THIS IS A GREAT CAR. Which is exactly my thought because it is. It is reassuring tho to see peers who echo the sentiment. Having said that so far I've added 18 inch wheels and tires, TRD exhaust and "86" center plaque. I wrestle/vacillate with the idea of adding about 50 horsepower DAILY. I don't see myself making many more cosmetic changes unless they accentuate...but the allure of adding more power to this chassis, DAMN!!!
My FR-S is not my daily driver. I have a 2006 Accord Sedan for that and I saw Star Wars when I was 7 years old at a Drive-in movie with my parents.

Just turning 40....


I have overpipe/frontpipe/Q300 exhaust, Openflash tune, Eibach Prokit springs, camber bolts, rear lower control arms, Weds TC105 wheels.


I love this car. Even with three kids, I love this car. We use our Honda Pilot for most kid hauling and family stuff. The BRZ is my daily driven car to work and around when I don't have the kids to haul. Great sporty/nimble car that still gets pretty darn good gas mileage considering how fun it is.

I'm a bit older.. I still remember my first pet dinosaur..
I've calmed down quite a bit over the years.. I still drive fast
When I can.. Just don't do as many stupid things as I used to..
My only mod to this car has been a cat back exhaust.
For the real world.. It's quick enough as it is..
I got another car that's faster.. But this one is more fun to drive..
