Chameleon Light Tint

Just wondering if anyone has, or plans to, add chameleon tint to their headlights or taillights. It seems pretty easy, looks cool, and adds a bit of rock chip protection to your front plastics. The thing I like is that it disappears once the lights come on. Not sure of the legality, especially here in CA, but I don't see the problem if it doesn't darken/alter the actual beam. Any opinions?

those have been getting really popular around here last year. a company called DragonLaminates seems to be the most popular one selling it, but there are a bunch of other "brands" too. most likely all from the same manufacturer in China (seriously). A local bodyshop called New Era Vista in the valley was like one of the first to do it on their shop car and start selling the service to put it on customer cars.

fyi, there is a high chance you will get a ticket for it by a cop depending on where you are. Some cops dont care and some cops do care.

Agreed with @8R6 , buyer beware. This screams probable cause, search and hopefully not seizure. Be prepared for a profilin' and a fix it ticket at minimum real quick to go along with your psychedelic headlights covers.

They are dragon laminates. New Era was one of the first ones, but most of them actually come from Arcane Concepts in Santa Fe Springs.

Co-worker had them on his car awhile back. He took them off because light output was diminished significantly..

I put a "not sure, lemme think" just because I don't think they are "yuck" but definitely wouldn't get them for a street car because of probable cause as stated by the other members above as well as decreased/changed light output and color.
