EcuTek Tune
Hey whats up guys, I've been trying to do some research on tuning the FRS, and I had a few noob questions.
If I buy the Tune now and program, down the road I will definitely be going the Forced Induction Route. Can I use the same tune on the Turbo kit and have a shop tune it according to the turbo ? And is EcuTek an actual tune? Cause on their website it shows them as just a "Programing Kit" and I would still need to get it tuned . Sorry for the noob-ish questions I just need some help to get my process going and what better place to come then my FT-86 Community ! Thank you all a bunch in advanced, and if you guys have any other input on any other quality tunes please feel free to chime in. Any input is a BIG help !! |

What tunes are available on the market that we can buy? I have no personal tuning experience and definitely wont run the risk to ruin it myself . |

Most of the turbo kits come with a base tune for ecutek. ive yet to see and highly doubt youre going to be able to buy a random FI tune for whatever FI route you decide to take and no one is going to be able to tune your kit without having the car with them. You seem like youre in my realm where you barely understand what open loop means. Bottom line is... Find a tuner.

Ecutek is the tuning company that through their licenses and cable allow a tuner like us to log into the cars ecu and adjust parameters. You would initially have to purchase the license through us but once you buy the license, you do not have to pay for it ever again even down the road when you get retuned for a FI setup. If you have any questions, like @whitefrs mentioned, call us or shoot me a PM on here and Ill be more than happy to assist you. |

You can get an e-tune now. When you get your FI setup, you will need to pay for dyno time and get a new tune for the turbo setup. But you will not need to buy another license as this gets married to your ECU.

Agreed. Most drivability issues arise from having aftermarket injectors and maf location associated with most FI setups. Shiv has proven OTS maps can work very well for the NA guys.

Or you are like me and paid for a street/dyno tune and it sucks across the board. I went with an "ecutek master tuner" and got a shit tune and spent over a grand. So i really recommend to due your research and find a good tuner, local or remote who has experience on this platform.
Im in the process of trying to figure out what to do and have a car that wont run well with over $1000 invested in just tunes. Really sucks. |
