The less people interested in this car, the cooler my (future BRZ) gets!
I got a less aggressive response on MR2oc.com. There is some guy who claims to have a cousin who's working with them on the car and claims they will release a turbo version of the car at $28k. Bs in my eyes. Either way, this car is getting both positive/negative viewers but it will neer phase my purchase.

Bimmerforums is more or less in love with this car. A lot of people are disappointed by the low power, but readily admit that the car is still going to be a blast to drive.

All of your inputs are very well said you guys.
My friend's main reason they don't like the BRZ is b/c Subaru didn't make it an awd car and then they have a problem with the power so they'll start hating on it for that as well too. The balance and weight is a bit more crucail to me and to some of them or others its all about big ass rims with an intake and call it a day. smh |

Damn, I should really branch out. From what I got from everyone there's a lot more love than hate. That's fine by me!

Subaru forums are having about the same reaction as here, although less whining about the Scion version.
Clublexus is having a surprisingly strong positive reaction about it too. Finalgear is pretty positive although they haven't sorted through the BS very well up until now. |

Surprisingly most people at NAGTROC are quite pleased with it. They don't complain about the power because they KNOW it will be fun to drive, unlike the 370Z whiners. They are happy Toyota is bringing back fun and exciting cars to drive unlike the cars they've made for the past few years.

it's pretty positive over at Honda places too, people are crying out to Honda hoping they will take Toyota's example. Im sure they're going to need a sacrifice a goat and do a dance to appease the Asimo god...

Of course I'm only speaking for our Off-Topic section. It's the only place people who don't actually own BMWs hang out. We don't worry about badges (as much).

There's a difference between a car enthusiast and the unrefined car fan. Most people won't "get" this car. I'm sure everyone would love a little more power, but I love the fact it's about 700lbs lighter than a 370z. 200hp @2.7k lbs is enough to get around and have some fun on back roads. It's not a mustang.
I'm going to sell my M3 to get one. That's saying something IMO. |

This car is going to be awesome for many reasons. I love my civic si with out a doubt but, this car really sparks my interest. For me these cars will be a good place for me to look when it's time for a NEW ride. I had gen2 rx-7 turbo (92) for a while and liked rwd quite a bit although, one day it broke down and cost more to fix than it was worth. I have owned many cars but, the si and rx-7 were my favs. The 86 could be the perfect blend of si and rx-7 put together.
the si and 86 = around the same #s and weight, handle well, n/a, 4 cyl, cost less than 25k, and so on. |
