As a longtime mod on another car forum, this isn't really the best idea. People who are popular rarely make effective moderators. Mods need an even temper, good organizational skills, and good people skills to do their job effectively. Sometimes popular people are a good fit, but it really needs to be handled on a case-by-case basis.

That being said, I don't want to invalidate your list. Some of the users there I think would be good candidates.

My list then stands. They're pretty down to Earth, and can scare off them newbies when they need to lol

I hate when things aren't a popularity contest, it's like everything that I learned in high school is completely wasted

FT86Club reality show? We can throw all the top contenders in a house and provide them with copious amounts of alcohol to provide for drama and then have automotive themed challenges during the days (once everyone is sober of course).
