speaking of S2000, I think the 86 chassis is much more capable and controllable compare to the S2k.
S2000 is just too nervous and you really need to push it hard to get 100% out of it. |

I found a few very nice examples near me for around $20k with less than 20k miles on them. Very, very tempting but I'm just not a Honda fan. I don't know what it is about Hondas that puts me off. I really like the S2000 but something about owning a Honda... I just can't do it. Same reason I had to get the Subaru; I refuse to be a Scion owner.

I like what the chap from Motor Trend said when comparing the V6 Mustang to the BRZ: "Now it might have the best live rear axle ever, but that's a bit like saying you're the healthiest guy in Intensive Care"

Yeah, that bit was great! I'm glad this comparison got posted; I was really looking forward to it.

I felt stupid for buying the car but luckily sold it for about what I paid for it. If you fit, great... it's an awesome car (though I prefer the roominess of the FR-S). Just make sure you test it out really well before buying. |

On what grounds? That I found two S2000's with <20k mi. for less than $20k or that I don't like Hondas? The last one I'll agree to. The first one, I found two 2004's.

It had to be done, I just couldn't pass up on a brand new 25k GT stang in black. As much as I was wanting an FRS, the dealer lip service I recived from multiple dealers, along with the cluelessness just left a bad taste in my mouth. And don't even get me started in Subuaru; you would think I was purchasing a prestigious Ferrari Enzo. But I don't think this is the end of the line for me and this car. I'm sure I will be back. In the meantime, I have enjoyed lurking, and being part of the excitement of this car. I truly hope it works out for everyone who pruchases one!

I had a sales lady and she was really cool. Even though she didn't know what the car she was selling me, (or was even coming for that matter) I educated her and she seemed surprised, then offered me a job selling cars, and I was like "lol, no thanks, I already sold cars for a few years, and refuse to go back". It was by far the most stressful and difficult job I have ever had. And this is coming from a somewhat gear-head type aficionado. I don't blame some of the members of this site for going to multiple dealerships both Scion and Suby just incase those jerks try to take crack their wallets... |

I can see a lot of the similarities to the Twins when I'm driving me Mustang GT. The corner windows are useless, there is a huge blindspot and the mirrors are smaller than I'm used to but they work. Coming from a truck where I had great visibility it's a little unnerving. I love the low driving position, my dad drives an old Buick Regal coupe and I would say the Mustang seats are 10x better than the "Buick bench." The backseats are uncomfortable for my <6' stature but I fit, just barely. The steering is hit or miss, sometimes I feel in complete control, while sometimes it feels like somebody else is steering. The old foxbody Mustang is on the edge of what I consider acceptable in size and weight(mine is probably 3200lbs) and I am not going to try this again, "classic" parts are expensive $$$.
Definitely still considering a FRS/BRZ in the near future tho. If you're stuck on the brand or badges you're looking in the wrong place. The S2000 is anything but a typical Honda. |
