Learned manual In the rockies often in snow. This is what I used until I learned grab points. Now I just use it occasionally for preloading trannies on hard launches some times.

I'm finding it funny to learn that people actually use their handbrake on hill starts.

If you can't feather the clutch and switch from brake to gas with the correct timing and smoothness..... practice. Cuz you ain't done learnin yet.

Well I've been driving solely manual for 18 years, I'm still not taking a chance when someone decides to put their car right up my butt. Not worth the potential hassle.

That's not how it works :-). On the Camry Hybrid, you activate hill-start assist by pushing the brake pedal all the way down and hold for a couple of seconds. When you give it throttle, the system let go of the brakes at the right time.

But you're right, its a pretty pointless feature either way: The FR-S has got a handbrake, and you got your left foot for an automatic.
