I have a Nameless 3'' front/overpipe, and Tomei 80mm titanium (a little bigger than 3'') with the FB premium turbo kit.

It sounds awesome, loud, no drone, and really loud when you romp on it. It's also quiet enough for around town when driving easy.

The sound is really really great.

This is something I was thinking of, do you have a cat in the frontpipe?

Also vids

I'd like to go full 3" but am worried about the noise on 8 hour trips.

In a few weeks will be running this kit with a GTX2867, 2.5 ARK Grip cat back, Ark Cat delete and Perrin OP

My bottom end is not built yet, so won't be aiming for above 300whp.

How much gain would I get from going full 3" back with these horsepower targets in mind? I have a Tomei 80 laying around, but the nameless 3" OP/FP is pricy. I'm feeling it would be better to spend these funds on a custom dyno tune and keep the 2.5" exhaust?

Keep the 2.5 for that power level and get a good tune. I dont think 3 inch is really beneficial until you're nearing 400. Dont forget you still have a 2.5 inch flange on your downpipe that you would need to cut off to be truely 3 inch turbo back.

Sorry for not clearing that up earlier. Now its just the oil cooler I am dealing with again.
Glad the car is making boost again.

If I can assist with the oil cooler let me know.

To Ricky, I am not here to get in a pissing match. It is an internet forum, many times a post must be simplified for the working man in order to assist in broadening knowledge as well as finding and solving an issue. If you want to teach a class, by all means open a new thread. This unfortunately is not EFI 101. Otherwise, I have intimate knowledge of the tune the car left my shop with. Kowledge 99.999999% of the world does not have. If the IAM is dropping on the tune he left my shop with, the car will not reach boost target.

These forums exist to help and educate all participants. Every post here can be a teaching moment. In this particular case we learned that the IAM does not just affect ignition advance but since a very low IAM apparently prevents the turbo from spooling, it is most likely the case that low IAMs cause the ECU to restrict how far the throttle opens relative to the pedal position. See how fun it is to piece bits of information together to deduce useful facts?

Peace, dude, and I hope you someday experience the joy of sharing what you know with the other 99.999999% of the world.
