Piggy backing off Tcoat's visit thread, and reminiscing about early 90s Sentras...

My first car was actually a red 1992 Sentra XE..... automatic. NOT the 2.0L SE-R engine but the standard 1.6L. Sigh.

Still, I thought it was the coolest thing ever and I put a huge stereo system in it. And of course in my mind it looked like this:

It's been around 37-45ish in the mornings around here and I've noticed this a lot :\ Definitely more for reverse and 2nd gear but I think I've also had it happen with 3rd.

The grinding doesn't happen as often but I do need to use more force to shift the gear.

Isn't this supposed to be a common issue with the twins in cold weather? Feel like I've read about that before. If it's a common manual trans thing I wouldn't know since this is my first lol.

It's been unusually cold lately. Some nights dropped down to low 30s.

I'd grind the gears cuz I think it would have went in all the way when it hasn't.

the rally jump for sure... he caught more air, kicked up a far larger cloud of dust, and was all-around more impressive.

I gotta vote Saito. Jumps on tarmac just have a different wow factor to me since it usually only happen in rally.

I've always kinda wanted a clean first gen SE-R for a daily. Now to go to catch up on the other thread lol

Going to take the Rally one; seems like it'd be harder to control and get going correctly after.

Maybe, but I've had this motul for a year. Been driving for 3 years. It's 4th and 5th more, and when I'm jamming down the freeway.

Definitely gotta relearn this. Time...to move seats.

Haha, funny you say that though. I did mess up shifting into 5th a couple of months ago and got some grinding.. Freaked out, thought about how the heck it happened and how not to do it, and fortunately that hasn't happened since.

So last night on the commute home there were multiple people happily driving along on 680 with their lights off well after sunset. One car didn't even have DRLs on so they don't even have that excuse. Honking and flashing my lights had no impact other than making them think that I'm the idiot.

I only saw one car like that this morning and the sun was up so it wasn't as dark but visibility still wasn't great. I guess I can count that as an improvement.

I'm so ready for autonomous pods for people who don't care about driving.

Well, you guys know I'm a little rally-biased so you know who my vote goes to. Saito's jump is still impressive none-the-less. Those type of rally jumps are actually pretty common (specially for rally finland) but this was the first I've seen of the drift jump.

Unfortunately, my wife is one of those people. She got pulled over at least a couple of times for driving with her lights off (thinking the DRLs were the lights). One of main requirements when we were shopping for a new car for her were auto-lights
