What was on the rest of the car when you ran this setup?
Bars? Tires? Alignment?

It was difficult to lower the car much, especially with the firmer springs. Travel was overall a little bit lacking. We would have preferred that they came without camber plates which has been something we've always thought with Ohlins standard plates. Running with stock top mounts would have been nice or subbing in a higher quality camber plate with caster adjustment.

Overall, very good coilovers that with a few changes would be great coilovers. Softer springs and valving is not a change we would have made and I'm surprised that's the direction they went.

Hi Andrew, I'm itching to try stiffer rates on my MI20 kit before committing to a revalve in the future and was wondering if you would recommend the 8K setup you had as a square setup or perhaps a 7F/8R? My car currently has an understeer bias from aero (wing, diffuser out back with splitter up front). Thanks!

I think 7 kg/mm front and 8 rear would be a great set up for you. We can set you up if want, send me a PM. Just put together an Ohlins spring package for someone else.

"Myles @ RaceComp ran 8 clicks front with 10 clicks rear both street and track with standard Ohlin dampers and 450 lb. springs front and rear. He preferred a 22 mm front sway and 16 mm rear sway. He also prefers 2.8 front with 2.1 rear camber, and 1/16 inch toe in each side rear."

RaceComp just set me up with the same setup.

With those roll bars, that is quite a lot of roll stiffness. @Sleepless you are using AD08Rs IIRC?

I've currently got MI20 with stock rates and 235/40/18 AD08Rs

Well they are 20mm bigger diameter than stock.

How much camber?

I lowered it 30mm and had slight rub on hairpins at the front but raised it 5mm and its fine now. I have -2.5deg camber up front.

Maybe thats the problem?

Sorry I remember you now. We chatted on the FB group about the MP20. Just seen the little knock you had

The MI20 has very firm damping. I dont go past 8clicks on the track so if the MP20 is the same I think you could go as far as 6/5 or perhaps 6/6

Brilliant! I've been running max hardness rear and 4clicks softer front to parry out some understeer.

Problem is changing damping only effects balance during weight transfer. Its roll stiffness that effects handling balance in a steady state corner so roll bars and/or spring rates are what need changing.

If you try 5/4 like ohlins want you to, I'd get stiffer roll bars front and back just to stiffen it up, but also adjustable ones so you can shift the roll stiffness ratio to get the balance you want/need.
