Probably going to pass on the drive tomorrow. If I'm feeling up to it I might drive down and meet some of you guys at the EDGE C&C.

hey guys, thanks to everyone who came out for the morning DRIVE. Not my best day for leading the pack as I didn't know unjtil I arrived that I would be the one leading it haha. Let's recap:
- lost a group of cars somewhere on the way to Hwy 9
- made an epic u-turn at Skyline and Page Mill
- led the lunch group after EDGE to McD's instead of In-n-Out
- after lunch, lost the group caravan heading to BAM

anyways hope everyone had a good time on the drive anyways. It was a short but challenging drive. I know some people asked afterwards, was this a typical size for a group, and was this a typical length of drive. I would say typically the group size is a little smaller but it's not unusual to see 10-20 cars join us. And usually the drive is a little longer, though it really depends on the location and route we choose to go, we are always changing it up and sometimes it is that short, sometimes it is a longer trip. This time we had a meet/destination to be at, so it was a shorter one.

Also I should remind everyone about safety issues as I haven't raised it in a while. Last summer I posted a rather lengthy essay on the importance of safety and some of the rules we ask everyone to obey when we go on drives together. I think because we see a lot of regulars joining us on the drives, and we have gotten to know each other fairly well, we may cut the “safety talk” short and just start the drives, but please remember that these safety rules and tips are still incredibly important to ensure we are doing what we can both to ensure safety for all and also to protect our good name and reputation as a group. I hope you’ll take the time to reacquaint yourself with these safety rules and tips, or read them carefully if you have never read them before. If you are bringing other friends along to join us for the drive, we expect that they follow the rules too. Please, be safe for your sake and for others.

That includes "common sense" things like no tail gating, giving cyclists and joggers plenty of room when passing, and generally being considerate to others. Just because we are driving together as a group does not give us special rights to behave differently or ignore rules.

Thanks everybody.

oh and video of the drive, and epic u-turn will be coming soon.

It is not an 86Drive event without at least one (better yet ALL!) of those

I know I'm guilty of 1 or 2 possibly all of the above at 1 point in time. Thanks for the reminder. 👍👍👍👍

Poor @PMok... he sounded like he was looking forward to relaxing towards the back of the pack. Haha

Thanks again for hosting a Sunday drive. Some of us can't make it out to Saturday drives, and others can't make it out on Sundays too. At least compared to the Saturday drives I've been out to this summer, this seemed to be a bigger turnout.

Definitely, can't wait until @MyRx finishes his shakedown of his newly reconstituted beast... then we'll see him out on more drives and he can make up for the lost seat time all summer long by taking charge

I don't know what this means but I hear you're doing a great job leading the drives. No one's better on laying down the rules, setting the pace, and making it safe and enjoyable for everyone.

However, that video shows some intruding into one's comfort zone. Fortunately, the white car is experienced and can hold his own but if it had been someone else, less experienced, that day could have had unwarranted results. I don't know who the other car is but please give space and/or take the point-by (or sign of) that was given to you (again, less experienced wouldn't have given you that respect). No one is out here to race on these backroads and I certainly do not encourage anyone to push their own personnel limits so the rear-car can "enjoy" themselves. If anyone feels the need to push their car or anyone else' for that matter on these roads, save it for the track or wait until you're all alone.

How does it go. "...if you cannot afford a track day, one will be appointed for you...at a very very reasonable price..."
