So if I were to guess I bet that the TRD kit will be around $10-15K
No it won't, $6-7k at the most with install.

all the reports coming from other news outlets stated that the car you pictured had a supercharger co developed with TRD. nothing about it being made by TRD and definitely nothing about production anything.

Looks like the guys who did the Tokyo Drift RX-7 got a hold of this bad boy. Looks good minus the super hardcore wheel tuck going on.

I will never understand why people would do this to a car.

There is never a shortage of stupidity, but there is always a shortage of taste.

I'm always surprised anyone idiotic enough to do such a thing has managed to make enough money to make it happen.

I found this the other day:

http://www.imotortimes.com/articles/...ger-slated.htm

Although being available to the public does not necessarily mean at a good price.

It looks as if the aftermarket is going to be cheaper. Would be interesting to see if there are any internal modifications or if the stock engine is used. To validate that the engine can handle the boost safely.

A factory super charged release series might be a way to keep it unique to the FR-S.

the only reason I would buy a TRD S/C is to maintain my warranty, and that is the only reason.

A warrantied, emission legal, factory tuned option is worth a premium. If I remember correctly the '05 tC had. A supercharger worth about 40hp. Ran super rich.

I for one would be willing to pay a premium for S/C with warranty...

IMHO its easy to push the most amount of power for the dollar (Turbo)....but being stuck on the side of the road a year later with a blown motor isn't fun!

Based on my previous experience modding my 03 WRX with a bigger turbo, injectors, catless exhaust, tune (TurboXS stage4) which had lots of power ...but often inconsistent power...looking back a little too unpredictable for a daily driver.

But I learned as I went...as many do. But running that bigger turbo (and pushing the boost) and the inconsistency of power may (or may not have) caused boost spikes combined with a faulty boost gauge resulted in a blown connecting rod that put me back $4,000 (and back to stock) in a jiffy. Temperature changes, bad gas, big hills most likely all factored in at some point.

Forgive me for stating the obvious but for those new to modding something to consider.
