There are delays in delivery's (and manufacture for that matter) of all cars right now. It isn't the dealers fault and they are not causing "shit" for anybody since there is zip all they can do about it. You think they would not much rather having some money coming in? They aren't doing it as a hobby you know.
Expecting some form of special consideration because of these issues is the very definition of entitlement!
With you on this all the way. Not knowing what the QC hold is actually the problem - perhaps none of our biz, just nosy people wanna know.

My car arrived at a local port on/around Feb 10th.
My status turned from A to F overnight and my ETA was previously Null, then updated with a date range of this week. After a few hours, the ETA changed to Fri-Mon. Will see what happens. My Dealer did confirm the car is being processed and they'll have an ETA for me in 2 days.

Yep. You should have it soon then!

I know I come across as being harsh on this subject but people just need to be patent and understand that we are currently not even close to a normal car market.
This whole "it was a plot to rip us off", The dealers are treating people like shit" and "they OWE us something" (paraphrased) crap just comes across like a bunch of whinny snowflakes that have no clue how the real world works.

Yes the delays suck and so sad some missed out on a $500 incentive but at least everybody isn't paying a premium like people are on loads of other cars.

QC Hold: sorry we just realized we fucked up the FIPG on the shortblock, timing cover again and wrong clearances on the bearings

Absolutely they are saving money. Fixing it under warranty requires them to use the dealers to fix it, and the dealers aren't going to do it for free. If the OEM uses their staff to correct the issue, it is going to be cheaper.

Also, this typically stops production keeping more faulty cars from being built.

Finally. My dealer said my preference has been picked up by the dealer. Now I can finally wait even longer for the car to be built and shipped.

Nice. What a relief it will be when that day finally comes for me. Maybe today!??

I’m sure the final couple weeks will be agonizing but the uncertainty of the pre-allocation wait is nasty.

Does anyone know what the issue was with the cars that caused the delays?

The only plausible speculation I've read was that it may have to do with a rapid-blinking turn signal issue some BRZ owners were experiencing. It could be something nobody is aware of at all.

Does anybody know if the qc hold is the reason why dealers haven't been getting gr86 allocations the month of February? I'm going once it's lifted there will be more arriving to dealers. Does anybody know when the March allocations drop?

2 weeks ago, my dealer received it's first GR86 allocation since I think December. But you're right, definitely seems to have been very few new allocations in the last month judging from my regular scanning of the bigger dealers closest to me - could be down the the QC thing.

Allocations drop twice a month, at the beginning and middle. I've been refreshing my dealers "new inventory" page multiple times per day yesterday and today haha, should be hitting soon.

The hold (if actually real since we have no proof of anything) would certainly delay shipping.
There have also been some major shakeups in the trucking and rail industries that could be holding things up. These can not be disregarded.
I repeat.
Things are NOT "normal" in the industry and everybody needs to understand that what usually happens just may not right now. Even the dealers are guessing at what will actually happen at any given point in time.

How so? Are dealers not receiving anything until 2023? I'm sure they'll have 22 allocations til june/july
