Based on the manual you can turn it on or off.

I think it's just the bright green color and the location of it that would annoy me.

Any idiot light would be annoying. That reminds me...I need a service on the other ride!

I was wondering why that green light would bother you, but that square thing wouldn't?

Square thing? You mean the LCD display? It matches everything else. The bright green light does not.

There was a sequence you have to go thru. I believe the car comes with it off. I like that. The new ND Miata has it on at all times. For a new driver it might help them learn to drive a stick.

Lol that will bother me I'm thinking or I could just get used to it,

We shall see

Then again I've driven manual all my life and never had hill assist

So....

I may just leave it off lol I'm pretty sure with or with out hill assist I'll still pull the hand brake from habit

Yeah, I purposely like to roll my car back a bit in some cases (without using reverse). I've never been in a situation where I needed to do anything special to start up a hill. But I'm sure this technology would help minimize clutch wear over the life of the vehicle. Still... probably minimal so I'll probably turn it off. If I lived in San Francisco or something, maybe I'd appreciate it more.

Yah I do get into situation where I like to have hill assit, but most of the time I like to be able to neutral and slide down for example my drive way is on a hill so I like to slide it down alittle to the front of my house etc.

The car actually still rolls back if you werent on clutch + brake at the same time while stopped. So if you had no clutch (in neutral) u will roll back instantly.

The hill assist light is always on if you turn the feature on...I was gonna turn it back off because the light annoyed me, but I really enjoy the feature so I kept it and now I am used to it. If you don't have the brake + clutch engaged and in gear when you let go of the brake it will still roll back.
